Stores in Sanctuary not Producing Caps?
I do know that when stores make money it gets deposited into the workshop. I've already collected caps from the workshop in other settlments with stores, but I've noticed that there are no bottlecaps collecting in Sanctuary and I have 4 STORES!

I have people assigned to all four stores. It is very perplexing.

From my understanding as well stores make settlements more happy, but Sanctuary is under 60% happiness and they seem to have all their needs met - food, water, defense, beds... Othere settelments with less things seem to be happier. It is odd and I haven't figured it out yet.

Are you waiting for caps or are you going out and doing things to pass the time?

Haven't tried anything myself though, so nothing confirmed AFAIK.

This is true. Basically the Fallout Shelter app is how the settlements work in this game, settlers without an assigned job will take to food production but become very unhappy.

I'm definitely going out and about doing things before checking. In fact, for a while I didn't know that the bottecaps were being put in the workshop. Sanctuary has my first built shop and the most shops, but other settlement stores started producing money before Sanctuary. I recently whent around collecting caps from my other settements and still none in Sanctuary. It is very strange.

Do you have a supply route between Sanctuary and another settlement? Could be that the caps where picked up from there before you arrived at Sanctuary.

I've read speculation that unassigned workers spend more money, but I believe that is just a myth. Since Sanctuary is one of the areas that I still have my recruitment beacon on I've had plenty of people move to the settlement before I was able to assign them and it hasn't made any difference to the issue I'm having. I'm wondering how that rumor started.

Have you checked the workbench for caps? They are put in there. Just select transfer and search for bottlecaps. I seem to find a few hundred in there every couple of days.

I have also heard that you need some settlers to not be assigned work otherwise they will not shop at the stores. Not too sure if this is true but might be worth ,aking sure you have a few unassigned.

From my understanding objects don't move from one settlement to the other with supply lines, but when the supply lines are set up you have access to resources like steel, wood, copper, etc from other settlements that are attached with supply lines. That seems to be consistent with what I'm seeing. As soon as I set up a supply line I have access to resources, but objects like guns and armor are not accessible nor move between settlements.

Did you read my post? :P

Yes, I've been looking in the workshop.

Based on experience I'm almost positive that the unassigned settlers theory is incorrect.

It finally started producing caps. The only thing that I know of that changed was that I removed the bottlecap mines from the workshop just in case that was causing the bug. I don't know that it was but I did find some bottlecaps in the workshop for the first time later.

If you made a shops in another settlement the caps will first come from workshop caps before your own. makes it look like they are not earning when you spent them via supply line new shop setting up. otherwise it should be 1-2 ingame days you get around 50-100? caps earned.

I had issues with settlers staying at the shop then i noticed i was making next to nothing in caps have 5 level 3 shops. Continued playing the game and using those vendors to sell my loot too.
Unassigned workers resort to resource gathering.

if you build a bar and put things like radios benches lights jukebox around it the settlers hang out here after work hours and spend money and get happy i have at least one small bar and store in every settlement and never see happyness under 80%.
