I wish I was trolling, but I'm pretty much ready to give up.
If you were aiming there would be no crosshair to place over anything, you would have either iron sights or (insert mod sights here) which are guaranteed to hit whatever they're targeted over, unless you're trying to use iron sights on a pipe gun to snipe...
Not necessarily. ADS doesn't stop the gatling laser or minigun (without the tri-barrel mod anyway) from having a pretty wide projectile spread, and the recoil from most weapons requires you to re-aim inbetween each shot or a burst of fire. The only weapons I have found to be almost completely accurate while ADS are the assault rifle, plasma rifle, and the laser rifle with the quantum gyro mod.
However if the OP is very close to his target he should be hitting it regardless of what he's using while ADS.
But if you're 5 feet away there's no way you're missing your shots. Even if you're not ADS, and your crosshair is on the middle of an enemy, it should hit.
And firearms do more damage than melee with mods. Something else has to be up with your game.
Well, a Super Sledge can do over 1000 damage per hit, and doesn't require ammo :P
I think it may be up to the OP using 3rd person to aim instead of 1st person.
Granted, but he mentioned the specific weapons he's having trouble with and all of them are ones that (at the range he states in his OP) are in fact completely accurate.
Indeed. I think this may be a PEBKAC issue. The OP stated that he plays in 3rd person, so that's what I'm going with.
How can you do over 1000 damage with your sledge hammer? Is that even possible without using console commands?
After reading that post, yep. I've tried ADS with third person and it's only slightly better than hip firing and always shoots to the right.
