Who the hell is art and why do I keep finding him

So I've found this guy named art and another guy named art fighting each other (ones a syth) and I kill the synth but I keep finding art again fighting his syth counterpart. WHY IS HE EVERYWHERE I GO!

You're not the first one who has this problem.
What exactly did you do when you met them the first time?

the first art killed the second art then he walked away and phased out of existence until i met him again and shot him by accident but it turned out that i shot the synth so in the end it was all good.

the first art killed the second art then he walked away and phased out of existence until i met him again and shot him by accident but it turned out that i shot the synth so in the end it was all good.

I've killed him several times now. Both the synth and the real one. (I always kill both) But he just keeps respawning ^^

No - Like most random encounters it is scripted to happen exactly ONCE per playthrough...

This has happened to me at least twice as well. I think I say a third Art at one point, having killed his double before I even noticed.

Every time I see them the bullets are already flying. Am I supposed to be able to talk to them?

I encountered them only once (in 172+ hours), and when I did they were both already shooting each other to death when I got there. Both of them immediately turned on me and tried to kill me the instant I approached. Never had a chance to talk to either of them because of this, so I just killed them both and moved on. *shrugs*

Now I'm curious as to what would have happened had I stumbled upon them under different circumstances...

he just says that he wants to be alone and phases through a wall or something.
