VANS really does nothing.
So i got the Vans perk, it says it highlights toe nearest quest objective in vats... um what does that mean? I enter vats nothing happens. my minimap doesn't highlight the closest objective on top of the others. Does VANS do anything?

Activate VATS when no enemy is around, if you see nothing exit VATS and immediatly search for green clouds leading to the location

If you hold down VATS key it will, most of the time, throw a green misty type trail on your screen leading you toward your next objective.

Yes. The green trail it produces is fairly useful when in the denser city areas.

It's basically useless. I got it early but should have put the point into something else. It's similar to a spell you could get in Skyrim that did the same. It helped in those dungeons but it doesn't seem needed in FO4.
wait, there's a green cloud, i've never seena green cloud?
Holding "V" needs to be part of the damn directions in the perk

Was wondering how that worked, seems similar to the tracking system in Witcher 3 then...

It's more of a green line but it looks like small clouds that leads the way to the next objective.

It's useless like in Skyrim.

I also was having troble getting this perk to work. Try "Shift-Tab" into the Steam overlay, then back out. Did this and the Perk is working fine now. Very easy to see the bright green line (misty) to follow. Hold the "V" key to look around if needed.

Open world game were you can go anywere to explore anything! :mkb:"here follow this green light"

I got it on my first playthrough and used it quite frequently because I tend to be lazy sometimes and don't always feel like having to search around, but I mean the game would be fine without it. And it totally contributes to the cliche that Bethesda games like to "lead you around by the nose."

The first time I tried VANS was straight out of Sanctuary. Preston told me that Tenpines Bluff needed my help, so I mashed the VANS key and it sent me straight to... Abernathy Farm.

Never used it again.

Did you have the Tenpines radiant selected in your pip-boy?

Yep, literally only two quests at the time: Help Tenpines and the Great Green Jewel, Tenpines was the only one with the little box next to it at the time.
