What do I do with all this Power Armour?
Hello!

So I have a Power Armour suit set at my base in Sanctuary, but I've found about 3 suits of power armour at different locations. Where do I put them all? What do I do with it? I've already got Power Armour set up at Sanctuary. Only 1 frame. Thx.

Build a box, put the parts in the box.

You could make companions and settlers wear them for extra protection, but their parts will break like the one player is wearing. Also, you will have to put fusion cores for them to wear the armor, but it will not use energy.

I made a kind of warehouse with all my stored power armors. I have about 8 - 10 pieces.
Its kinda fun to collect them.

I think I have 10 or 11 full sets over two locations. I think I'll pick a nice place and start building my own version of a Terracotta Army.

One thing I did, when someone mentioned that raiders could potentially steal your Power Armor, was to build a three story structure with external stairs only, and store my Power Armor on the top floor. Then when I leave town, I go into Build Mode and "Store" the stairs.

Personally, I'm hoping that Settlements get a lot of love when modding goes live, so I can build a Stark-style vault for all my suits.

Look at it lovingly like Jay Leno looks at his car collection . . . .

There are several ways to save your Power Armor. One is to store the parts in a chest but you can't keep the frame.

The second way is to order companions into them. If they are at a settlement that is greatly protected and they won't take damage, then you can offload your armor worry free. If you want them to exit, you need to use the talk option with them. Power Armor is not GLUED to companions, this is a common misconception. They do need cores, though. However, your companions do not deplete cores.

The third is to untilize the crafting stations. The Prydwen has 2 available (1 if you join, 2 if you complete Blind Betrayal). Sanctuary has 1. Red Rockets ALWAYS have atleast 1 station except for the one in the Glowing Sea. The Atom Cats have 2 free stations. The Abandoned Shack in the Glowing Sea has a station at the bottom floor of the research center (free X-01 set as well). Also, many stations are in UNMARKED locations (for example, there are two power armor stations in the eastern portion of the map near the Glowing Sea that are totally unmarked).

You can also just leave them, especially in the starting Red Rocket or in Vault 111. Plenty of room. However, it is always better to dock your Power Armor because it will NEVER despawn while docked. There HAVE been instances of PA despawns because it was not docked. Never leave your Power Armor under the overpasses FOR GOD'S SAKE. Sometimes cars spawn on the overpass incorrectly and clip straight through the ceiling and will land on your Power Armor which doesn't allow you to access the suit. Just try fast traveling back and forth, that should fix it, but it can be really annoying sometimes.

Also, the Power Armor Helmet symbol on the map shows the last suit you entered. This does not mean that other docked suits around the map have disappeared. As long as your suit is docked (exiting a suit near a station, hitting the craft key, and then immediately exiting.), it will NEVER despawn.

I had 6 standing near a crafting station, of course only one attached to it, and i played for several hours, i was lvl 30 or so (previous character) and they never dissapeared, i stored all in my "house" in Sanctuary near the station. Should i be worried ? i mean i really had a lot of hours into that playthrough, and they were all fine, standing there, without cores.

I have 3 suits.

I upgraded 1 to titanium and model B, set that in Diamond City.

I kept 1 that I got from the BoS, but made it more rad resistant.

The other one is the same, Titanium and Model B, but I keep in Red Rocket.

I have them all spread out in the event that I need the armor in those general areas, and don't want to fast travel.

well the tunnels in castle are a decent storage facility to a point, otherwise id recomend vault 111 as that place is completly static and never respawns nor does any npc ever go there

I always make a habit of storing my suits. That being said, I'm too lazy to maintain multiple suits, so when I see a working suit I just yank the core and any armor pieces I want.
