Piper stuck at diamond city gate

Piper won't talk to the intercom and I can't get her event to trigger so I can get in diamond city. Is there any console commands I can use to force the mission? I've tried an earlier save. Nothing seems to work.

well crap. that's fixed it. note to self: do not fast-travel to diamond city in an effort to quick-start a new character

so ive fixed it with a little bit of what you all said first thing first with console command unlock the door after youre in diamond city start the quest for the interview with setstage 000456e8 10 ...after that it says go to piper office..you go but shes not there she still standing outside diamond city so in the office type in the console command prid 00002f1f and after Type moveto player now shes in..talk to her to trigger the interview and now you good..the only thing though its i think the mayor still stuck at the gate..so for future quest with himm i think you screwed..could do the same steps for him after we will see

After a lot of turmoil, i discovered the fix that works for sure. You still miss quest dialogue but this will at least get the door open:

open the console ("~") and type the following

prid 00077a87
unlock

You should see "Unlocked Diamond City" in the console, and the door will open. Next, move to pipers office, open the console again and type these three commands:

prid 00002f1f
moveto player
setstage 000456e8 10

close the console and do the conversation with piper; she will mention valentine. Go to his office and start his quest to complete "Jewel of the Commonwealth", Piper is unlocked as a companion, and the door to Diamond City is unlocked.

What about the major though. Would be nice if someone finds a solution to this as well so all problems will basically be solved.

Hello from 2018, I had this glitch happen to me on a brand new character, no mods to change how the game starts. The way I solved this glitch is by crouching by the big construction machine behind Piper, and sniping her in the leg. Anywhere else and the mayor somehow got hurt as well. Hope this helps anyone that reads this.

i know this is old but i use the click and type unlock solution and it opened, but piper still stands there :/

This worked for me a long time ago, hope it helps.

Leave the city and then open the console by using the TILDE key (~)
TYPE "setstage 000456e8 10"
TYPE "completequest 000456e8"
Type "prid 00002f1f"
Type "moveto player"
Press TILDE (~) again to close the console

step one unlock gate
~unlock
after clicking on it

step two summon piper inside DC
walk into DC and
~
setstage 000456e8 10
prid 00002f1f
moveto player
~
step three watch
she will walk out of DC back to the intercom and after a sec talk to the mayor.

I got to this years later, had to prid/moveto piper to me in her office to get the dialogue to move to "the interview". Also using Alternate Start mod (Xbox PC version)

This issue is normally fixed by turning on "Dialog Camera" in game settings.

I did this first then did the tcl command so i can go through the gate… once i was on the other side piper was there … i used the command to unlock the gate from there and it work somehow
