My specs are

Well I heard newer cards are having issues. How old is the gtx690?

Try the optimized texture mod on the nexus, just go to top files its title has the word optimized in it.

-Also try verify game files
-update steam
-update drivers as well

Turn god rays off all together and enjoy no drops :)

But my question is why in the hell can I have drops should the 980 ti be able to handle any issues

I am running sli 970's, I only used 1 until I found a sli tweak, I still ran it smooth.

something is wrong and it should be fixed, it should be running fine and it isn't. Did you do what I said?

God Rays and Dynamic shadows are extremely demanding. In fairness thou, 20's is quite a drop for a high end card.

Out of curiosity it is not down clocking is it?

No just a standard MSI gtx 980 ti

So you did every tweak so you'd be able to use mods and even try the texture pack out in less than 5 minutes? highly doubtful my friend.

I get very choppy performance in some areas (notably indoors such as vault111 and your house during the intro). Runs fine outside. Tinkered with loads of options to no effect. Im just about to give up and uninstall :(

If you don't understand a persons question then you should ask what he meant by down clocking. And by down clocking he meant that if perhaps the card is getting enough heat then CPU/GPU's could down clock their mhz so it wouldn't heating up as much but it would decrease performance.

*edit for spelling.

If you have a nvidia graphic card you could try setting it to performance mode instead of quality mode in nvidia control panel and it should help the burden a bit but downgrading your graphic drivers could help as well. if you got a graphic card in the range of 600-900 series of nvidia you should try out the 350.12 version as it's working almost flawless for me with a 680 gtx

Tried changing to performance mode but no improvement. Already messed around with alot of nvidia control panel settings but nothing really helped. This is first time I've even had to look at the control panel. Only thing that improves performance is disabling vsync - get very smooth gameplay but also the inevitable screen tearing. Might just put FO4 aside for awhile and come back to it after patches.Annoying really as don't care about having graphics maxed out, just want it to play consistently.
