LOOT (load order optimiser)
So for all those people that like to mod their games I "think" I have found a hacky work around that will allow you to use LOOT with FO4.

"think" I am not 100% sure this works as it is supposed to and is wholely dependant on how good the FO4 masterlist is right now.

"hacky" It should work but it is not supposed to work like this, don't want to mess with it wait for the official release of LOOT for FO4

So heres how it works.

1a. Download and install some mods using (or not using) your favourite mod manager. I wont go into how to do this there are plenty of guides on the internet that it explain it much better than i can be bothered to.

1b. Download LOOT from https://loot.github.io/

2. Install and run loot for the first time

3. Open the settings menu located within the menu on the top right hand side of the window.

4.Click the plus at the bottom of the settings menu and enter the following information in each of the corresponding boxes.

Name: Fallout 4
Base Game: Skyrim
Master File: Fallout4.esm
Masterlist Repository URL: https://github.com/loot/fallout4.git
Masterlist Repository Branch: V0.8
Install Path: \steam\Steamapps\common\Fallout 4 (or where-ever your Fallout4 folder is located)
Install Path Registry Key: Software\Bethesda Softworks\Fallout4\Installed Path

Other than Name and the install path the above should match exactly as I have typed

Don't worry about the other games in the settings folder as LOOT pretty much automatically deals with them.

5. Click Apply and close LOOT

6. Go to \steam\Steamapps\common\Fallout 4\data (or where-ever your fallout 4 data folder is located)

7. Make a copy of Fallout4.esm and rename the copy Skyrim.esm leave your new Skyrim.esm in the data folder (DO NOT RENAME THE ORIGINAL not having a Fallout4.esm in your data folder would almost certainly break the game)

8. Load LOOT and run a sort and save.

9. Disable (using a mod manager), Manually disable, rename skyrim.esm to skyrim.esm.backup or delete skyrim.esm from the data folder.

10. Profit?

Final thoughts I don't know how well this works or even if it is worth doing right now, I expect LOOT will be updated but I don't know when. Enjoy.

I'm sorry but this is useless. LOOT requires individual mods to be added manually to a curated master list.

If you read the FO4 git mods are already being added to the masterlist pre empting LOOT's release

It works. But with so many mods coming out (especially using FO4edit) the masterlist kinda needs to be updated soon.

I did this and it says: Error code: -1; Invalid game ID supplied.

So yeah, this doesn't work.

I did the 7'th step after it gave me that error and it still works for me, just open up LOOT after you've done "7. Make a copy of Fallout4.esm and rename the copy Skyrim.esm leave your new Skyrim.esm in the data folder (DO NOT RENAME THE ORIGINAL not having a Fallout4.esm in your data folder would almost certainly break the game)"

Works like a charm

I organize my own loot order, it's easier to see what mod's supposed to go where if you do it yourself.
