Is there a way to undo/reset achievements?
Title...

I was bored and felt like playing around with the console in just a quick match of see what some things are like etc... long story short, i went from level 1 to 300 in one go, and i actually expected achievements would be disabled with the use of the console...

Anyone know if there is any way possible to undo/remove/reset an achievement?

no you can't, you can't ask steam to do it either, they will not. Buy the game again and then you can do them all over :D on your new steam account

There is... through third party tools. But like everything else of this sort, you risk an account ban.

Wow... I guess of this nature i can't ask more on specifics... but dang... account bans for even undoing something on a silly achievement thing? wowzer... Yeah... after dealing with steam enough this week with a previous issue i'd rather not try that anyway.

Just sucks... I'd rather not have these achievements yet.

You can... Using a third party program totally unsupported by steam. I did it once to enable a buggy tag on another game I played a lot but after the third time of me not getting it I got sick of it and just enabled it. :)

The warning is that Steam COULD VAC ban you for using it but it is incredibly unlikely if you keep it to yourself.

Here's something you can do: make a seperate steam account, then share your games with that account. then enter a new game. Unfortunatly you can't transfer steam accounts.

I'm not aware of hacks to reset achievements. But if they exist then of course you would risk a ban. Achievements are stored on their system and not yours. If you use software to hack their system of course they will ban you if they catch you. And remember, any hack that can remove an achievement can also give you one.

Although I've never seen the value achievements in the first place.

The achievement manager (Hint, hint) doesn't hack their servers. Great gods. >_< It just sends a signal to their server telling it that you have gotten XYZ achivement to unlock it and give you credit for it.
And no, no-one using it has gotten an account ban. THAT SAID! Some dummies leaving it running have gotten VAC bans when playing VAC games.

I hate to tell you that using a third party software to send data to their servers which alters data on their server is hacking whether they catch you or not. That data belongs to them and not you.

I once knew a person who used an achievement unlocking thing to unlock EVERY SINGLE ACHIEVEMENT in TF2 (A VAC game), which was roughly over 400, all at the same time. They never got VAC banned or anything. The programs to my knowledge can both lock and unlock achieves, which means if someone in a multiplayer game cheats and wrongfully triggers one for you, you can be a good samaritan and re-lock it for yourself. But beyond that it would be considered cheating. So, consider that area of things to be a gigantic grey area.

The probelm with using a 3rd party program to remove the achievement from your Steam account, it may not reset any flags or counters the game used to track achievement status. This would mean that the game wouldn't know to award the achievement a 2nd time since it thinks it's already been awarded.

Definition of hacking is to gain access to servers or networks by circumventing security protocols. These programs only send a bit of data to a place looking for said data. So being purely technical and nitpicky, it is not hacking.

Makes up definition. Or quote source for definition.
