Dismissed my dog as a companion because I kept wanting to say "hey dog, go look at that over there" but the dog was too far away to give commands, so I'd move closer and the dog would move farther away and the next thing I know I'm halfway across town from where I wanted the dog to go look and now he won't stop prancing around and getting out from under my cursor.

Couple minutes of that and once I finally got the cursor on him it was "DAMMIT JUST GO HOME"

Yea I hate when they walk away because sometimes it skips stuff and they assume you already responded to what they were trying to say.

Maybe they just aren't into you?

Nah, but it can be annoying. For me what is worse is going to turn in the junk quests. Every time you start to get close they go on asking you about the raiders, ghouls, or whatever and how it is doing - as you are trying to talk to them to tell them it is done.

My last issue was trying to talk to mel (a dude with an eyebot). He would stop when i initiate the conversation but would start walking away as soon as i pick an answer question. Was trying to follow him while keeping the conversation but everytime , the cam would lock right after i pick an answer/question and then he would get back on his set path and walk away. felt like shooting his head off with a gauss.

It really is annoying as all,
and all the stupid replies you got are annoying and juvenile and predictable

Don't worry about those. It happen on all "big sales" games. The casuals try to give meaning to their sad life by trying and failing to be funny. The more sale a game get , the more cod idiots it bring. Just ignore them and they will find something else to hate on.

Yeah, I am having the same problem with Mel.

I finished a questline with him earlier... ran into him walking in the middle of nowhere, and he just keeps walking and interrupting the dialogue over and over again. Can't go through the conversation.

Doesn't seem that important, but it' pulls you right out of the game.

Try turning off the Dialogue Camera in the settings.

Thanks for the tip but it kill the immersion imo. I like the dialogue camera and wish i didn't have to turn it off because of this oversight.

Another huge pain is when NPCs walk into you while you're talking and push you out of the dialogue range.

Yeah, just started playing after a long pause. Walked up to my companion to talk to them and she immediately walked away from me. SERIOUSLY? After all these years they are still doing this SH-t? What mods are out to fix this? I checked nexus on "WALKING" and only walking dead crap comes up or big booty bouncing.

Perhaps she will return in SIX years, like this thread did...
