Unstoppable killing machine
so i am trying to make a unstoppable killing machine. i want this guy to be able to withstand a mini nuke direct hit if thats even possible. i am not into the campanions they seem really weak and really not putting up with the head aches they cause.

now i am asking all the pro's out there for build advise. i have done the stealther and it can be fun.

i would like to craft mods for armor and my weapons. i don't really have a weapon preference.

any ideas?

The X 01 power armor fully upgraded, Lone wanderer maxed, rooted, moving target maxed.
Life Giver maxed, Endurance maxed; and it only counts if you are playing on survival,

i would prefer to be able to open locks maybe open computer terminals. have science for certain upgrades are also nice.

this is the character builder site i am using http://vault111.com

Get the X-01 past about level 27 it spawns and you won't need any perks :)

i know everyone is excited about the new power armor stuff but i am not a big fan i would like to beat this game without power armor.

Get the captain's hat at the Skylines crash, it gives +2 Endurance.

Otherwise, Timex got it right.

Also if you want to kill most enemies really quickly, get the Overseer's Guardian at the Vault (81?)

Or find a weapon with Bleeding, as that does far too much damage for its own good.

The get the ultra armor upgrade from that faction. They allow you to upgrade clothes up to 110 defense.

What about poison? And yeah the overseers guardian is a freaking BEAST.

I had made a build with similar things in mind before. Opted for melee, super sledge with heated mod AND rooted perk is enough to 1 shot deathclaws with a normal VATS strike in survival difficulty. That perk is definitely a must, +50% damage and +50 damage reduction while standing still. The damage bonus also applies to VATS strikes.

I used power armor as much as possible because the pain train perk really gives you that wrecking ball feel.

But since you do not want to do that, I would grab an Army Outfit (+1 STR & +1 END) with MK V ballistic weave and as many +endurance legendary armor pieces as possible, or %dmg resistance against certain enemies mods if I was willing to switch gear often.

The offensive side is easy to sort out, it's defense you should be concerned about if you want to stay out of power armor. Timex' recommended perks are spot on.

I got hit by a mini nuke, or, it landed just behind me, I had 9 endurance, , a point in ghoul, nothing in life giver, combat armor, no power armor, maxed microweave under armor, took a half hit to health. That was around lvl 40-50, suprised me, I thought I was going to die as it sailed in. high endurance, even without life giver and toughness, is pretty solid, you can get body slammed by a deathclaw and still get up and finish it off.

Poison doesn't stack like Bleeding does. Same with Burning. Only bleeding for some reason stacks per hit. So you could get a shotgun with bleeding and it'll add bleeding DOT per pellet.

I did a playthrough with one strength and a baseball bat with bleeding, it was hackin and wackin the wasteland.

Figure out how to get ballistic weave mods on your clothing. For maximum cheese, do it on a Newsboy Cap and Army Fatigues and wear combat armor on top of all that. You'll have an armor rating over 300 without power armor.
