Build in unavailable/red areas
What it says on the tin. I'm thinking console commands can allow this to happen as I've seen lists for the workshop on Nexus. Can anyone verify? If so, what commands are used?
I'd love to be able to properly place things in my settlement but I'm not gonna use Cheat Engine to do it -_-
Note: Not talking about making new settlements; I'm aware of how to do that.

I appreciate the obvious answer, but that neither helps nor does it have any of the settlement commands I was referring to earlier aside from the budget alterations.

Yeah, TCL seems to be the best way to place objects although it doesn't allow you to place in invalid areas. I'm gonna do some ini tweaking ingame and see if that gets it working.

Hmm. I like that idea, if for no other reason than I would never have thought of it. Once I get to grips with my new character I'll try that as well.

Pretty much. Gonna try having a double-workshop at Red Rocket, and then I'll try putting up a workshop in a random area to see if that has any effect.
Some footage I've seen suggests the latter won't be the case, though :/ So I'm still gonna bet that "setini" values are the key, although they're untested as far as I can tell.

Put things on a small carpet and then grab the carpet (doesn't always work, but when it does...). Also you can store or scrap the carpet after you've placed it wherever you want.

Also, there's this mod[www.nexusmods.com], which I haven't tried yet.

That's decent but you can do what that mod does with noclip.

We were talking about placing things in "illegal" (highlited red) areas, not just clipping them through moveable objects :)
As I said, I haven't tried it yet. ;)

If that's the case, though, it's either the carpet trick or Cheat Engine... or possibly the double workshop trick, for now. *shrug*

Actually, if you're using the beta patch, Cheat Engine isn't an option. ._.

Ah, of course, the table will probably have to be updated for the new executable... the author will probably wait till the non-beta patch is released, though, no much point in doing it for a short-lived beta... :/

Oh well, the carpet it is, then; made sure there were no holes in my Sanctuary walls with that one trick...
