Could it run with a NVIDIA GeForce 9800 GT for a graphics card?

was wondering if anyone knew if i could still run it with my old graphics card.

did it run the previous fallouts? if it can run fallout 3 then it should be able to run fallout 4. but probably badly.

a 9800 GT is a fairly good card considering its age, it will run fallout 4 but limited fps, and a low resolution. but it alone doesnt decide if you can run it, your RAM and CPU need to pull their weight.

It requires at least a GTX 550 ti according to various sources. So i would guess you will need a DX11 Card to run it at least and as much as i loved my old 9800GT i doubt it will even let you start the game.

the gt 9800 could run it in dx9, in my opinion. report back to us what happens, and we will reward you 150 caps.

after all its the same basic engine, with dirext x glitter ontop.

I think Fallout 4 is a DX11 only game - so you could try your luck and get a refund later

F4 use DX11 and 9800GT supports only DX10.

roger, was thinking bout upgrading it if it couldnt run it or if it would probably struggle to run it well. Any suggestions on a decent Graphics card that will run it at about medium quality? Would be nice to run it above minimal settings but don't wanna spend too much on a graphics card.

I had to uninstall the drivers for my 9800 gt to run the game, (basically using stock intel drivers at this point, it works but not pretty)

You will be running on intergrated intel then, not the nvidea.

Discovered that the 9800 gt would not run fallout 4 because fallout 4 requires directx11 and the 9800 gt caps out at directx10 and will never support directx11, what a great excuse to buy a new graphics card :-) thanks bethesda.
