My companion(Piper) keeps falling down, is this bug?
Hi. I've just figured out that Piper is falling down on the ground constantly.

she just fell down to the ground(just like when her HP becomes zero), and get up. and some time later, she repeat this.

is there anyone suffering this glitch?

even though this is minor bug, I feel quite annoying.

If someone let me know the way to fix this (maybe some console command?) , really appreciate it. Thanks!

This happens to me as well. I think maybe... it's because she's always drunk?

Same thing happens with me and Preston. I read somewhere else that you can fix it in the command console. Click on your companion and type "disable" so they disappear then you type "enable" and they'll respawn all fixed. I haven't had a chance to try this myself yet.

Apparently you can also shoot them until they're low health then give them a stimpak, although that option doesn't really appeal to me.

Shoot her in the face a few times until she behaves properly (seriously, that will fix it).

Thanks to all of you! I guess I have to shoot her until death,,,

Piper did that with me for a while but that was because she jumped off of a highway. Probably broke her ankles and she couldn't get back up. I just sent her back to Sanctuary.

If you're anywhere too irradiated, it kinda happens. I've had Cait and Piper fall down to death stance when near places too irradiated, like in the starlight drive in. There is a pond that just reeks of radiation. If you stand in one position close to the pond, they might take rads with you and die.

I had Preston flying around with his arms in the air for a while and even shooting him didn't work. I didn't try the disable-enable trick, didn't know about it, but I ended up going back to a previous save :( I mean it was funny, but it looked awful.

i found a fix for this, but it's PC only.

using the console, target the companion in question, and type the following:

setav rads -2000000000

that's a negative two with nine zeros

to be clear: this is a fix for companions that fall over and get back up repeatedly. to fix a companion that is constantly sitting (ie: crippled legs), disable/enable works.

the underlying reason they do this is that their rad level climbs at an absurd rate, observable by using "getav rads". i have no idea what the exact cause is, though i suspect some kind of spell effect or script is responsible. i won't be able to tell what exactly is going wrong or find a REAL fix until i get my hands on the creation kit. in the meantime, setting it to such an irresponsibly low value should provide an adequate workaround for anyone experiencing this issue.

if anyone comes up with a more permanent fix, please share it, as currently both Preston and Cait are affected by this bug in my save.

thanks Warboy, looks like that did the trick.

I had the same issue. Piper's rads were at 45.83. The disable - enable thing fixed it.

Take some rad-x, enter the workshop mode, and walk around a bit in the pond.

You can delete all the barrels or radiation (which gives a crap ton of Nuclear Material) and then the pond turns into fresh water :)

yeah, radiation, my piper failed at glowing sea. Now I always leave 10 radaway in her inventory, and stimpacks of course.

I had a provisioner that I reassigned to manage a bar.
She would occasionally fall down and sit there for a while.

Using the console, I clicked on her and saw:
getav rads (was constantly going up)
getav health (was low)
getdisease (was 1 meaning she had some disease)

Since the list of disease spells was short (ignoring the hard core diseases), just tried them all.
The one that was causing the problem was removed with (need to click on the NPC first so their ID shows in the console):
removespell 1f6a3

It is called: WaterRadiationHighHazard

Her radiation went down to zero in less than a minute and her health went back to 100
getdisease (is now zero)

Makes me wonder if you have the DLC if you could set up a laser tripwire that starts the Decontamination Arch whenever a settler walks through it, (Put it in the doorway of the bar)
