Killing Marowski
I have a quest to kill Marowski. He's marked as an innocent though which is the reason I'm posting here.

Talking to him just gets one-line comments and doesn't allow an actual conversation so it doesn't seem that you can provoke him to attack and then kill him "in self defense."

I've tried killing him with melee or silenced weapons, but even if its a single-hit undetected stealth kill... it provokes everyone in the building to go hostile to me... because presumeably they are all psychics and / or Jedi and were able to sense that a life around them had faded.

Is there any ways to make him non-innocent or otherwise kill him without resulting in a building / town wide murder spree?

Which quest is this?

Its one of the Miscellaneous quests. Its kind of a follow-up quest to the Diamond City Blues quest chain. In that quest Nelson Latimer is killed and later on his father, Malcolm Latimer, may confront you the death of his son. You can blame it on Marowski, the guy who you steal drugs from during the Diamond City Blues Quest, and Malcolm will then give you the Miscellaneous quest to kill Marowski and avenge his sons death.

Marowski isn't exactly an innocent man... he's a drug dealer and killer himself. I'm not sure why there isn't a built-in way to kill him without it being a massive crime.

The only other way is using Console commands.

I'd prefer not to cheat to get through the quest. It seems a bit cruel for them to give you a quest that pretty much turns a whole town against you. Especially when its a town where you, on several occasions, kill plenty of people in it without negative repercussions.

I was really hoping there was a storyline method to address the problem like getting him poisoned or turning someone against him or whatever.

Are you still able to reverse-pickpocket live grenades on people? If so... does that still work as a method to bypass it being murder to kill innocent people?

I've already tried stealing from him while being seen to make him hostile and hopefully be able to kill him without issue, but it still results in everyone turning against me.

Kill 'm while he's sleaping
I've got another problem though... if i kill 'm he goes unconscious, so i can't complete this quest. Is there another quest for him i should be doing first??

I used the mr sandman perk where you kill him while he's asleep.
I waited... and waited... He died the following day for killing Nelson. (I did it, it was me!)
No one attacked me.

Thanks for the suggestions.

I hadn't tried using a stealth boy, but I did try being stealthy and using a silenced weapon to one-shot kill him in VATs. Also tried a melee weapon. In both cases it caused everyone to turn hostile. I'll give the stealth boy a shot next time I'm there.

The mister sandman perk I had completely forgotten about. Thats likely the best, maybe even only, way to handle it without causing issues. I'm a long ways off from getting that perk though, but I'll work towards it.

I keep trying to kill him but he just wont die. He just sits on the ground and then gets back up. Is there a quest from him?

You got to make him attack you first,
You can got a photo from Darcy, tricking him into paying first without showing the photo make him angry and hostile.

Killed him with my silenced Deliverer right next to his bodyguard, who didn't even flinch, just like anybody else in Goodneighbor.

I was able to kill him, just had to keep coming back and trying to kill him. Evenutally it allowed him to die

I killed him while crouched and hidden with a silenced rifle when he was walking upstairs alone to go to sleep. No problems.

It's either killing them silently or make them hostile first, Latimer can't be made hostile so you have to kill him silently, but Piper hate that.
