Sturdy Combat Armor?
Does anyone know where to find a full set of sturdy combat armor? I've been able to find the normal combat armor but not sturdy or heavy.

Are you a high enough level? You need to be pretty high leveled for sturdy equipment to spawn and even higher than that for heavy variants.

Level 25 so that may be the issue

I'm over level 60 and I'm just now seeing Heavy Combat armor with any frequency. Even now it's extremely rare to find anyone wearing more than a piece or two at a time and I still see more Sturdy and Regular than Heavy.

I probably started finding pieces of it around lvl 45 for arm and leg pieces, and 50 or so for chest pieces.

I've still only found one combat armor helment at this point.

However, I know someone who has had a heavy combat armor chest piece since around lvl 15. I know for a fact they didn't console it in as well. So they either got a lucky glitch drop, or just got the equivalent of a natural 20 on a Legendary enemy loot roll.

There is no level cap in the game, so you can keep leveling indefinitely, but you also don't need to gain progressively more XP for each level. It stays the same amount for every level. Higher level enemies also don't net you quite as much XP as they used too because of this.

I also have a very high luck, which means I have a better chance of findng nicer gear.

All my SPECIAL stats are at 11 because I waited until I boosted them up to 10 before collecting the Bobbleheads. They permanently boost you to 11 if you wait until you reach 10 to grab them. However, if you grab them before you raise your SPECIAL stats to 10, then they max out at 10. Idealy you want them all at natural 10 without any gear bonues raising them up before you grab the SPECIAL Bobbleheads. This probably means passing a few of them up as you are very likely to run into at least one of them before you raise your Speical Stats that high.

You can keep leveling until you get every perk level and max out your SPECIAL points. Of course, you'd have to get to around lvl 280 or so to do that, but it can be done if you're willing to grind for it. You can even keep leveling beyond that if you wanted, but you won't have anymore perks to spend your points on and they'd just start building up.

Point being, I think that you have a chance to find pretty much anything at any level, but that chance keeps getting boosted as you level. So while you migh thave a .01% chance to find Heavy Combat Armor at lvl 5, it's probably more like an 2% chance by the time you're level 45 or so, and maybe 6% by the time you reach 60.

I find more of the higher level gear now than I did previously, but it's still somewhat rare. I'm not sure if that's just because my luck is so much higher, or because my level has gone up, or even if i's a combination of both. I suspect it's that last one.

Hub City Autowreckers, Gunner Commander called Bridgette, who wields a Fat Man.

I guess I can't say for 100% sure that she'll have it for you, but I toddled over there at level 14 or something as I was exploring and she had a full set which I immediately took and never looked back. A full set of Heavy Combat Armour, that is. This is the only advice I can give, because the rest of the sets have literally been found on Gunner Commanders that I've come across as I've cleared out dungeons and stuff. Level 79 now, pretty much always guaranteed a couple of pieces of heavy from the boss of a Gunner dungeon, and several pieces of sturdy from all the "above average" filler Gunners that make up the majority of enemies in any given location.

you can find it at any lvl and you are not more likly to find some parts over others i have allways found chest parts first. you have to rember that the sturdy and heavy combat armors would have been rare and super rare think of the heavy as X-01 power armor its kinda like that. the helms are also rare most troops would have had the normal helm that you find all over and had normal combat armor. its also not helping that the game takes place in an area that would not have had much in the way of military grade gear in the first place. you can get a lot of full sets of normal combatarmor and the combat helm at an asilem thats sligtly south of starter town and way to the east but i dont know if that stuff will get better with lvl.
I found an almost complete set of heavy armor in my mid twenties off a gunner boss. That's what I've been decked out in for about twenty levels.
