My Perception is reduced and I don't know why.

So for quite a few levels now, for some reason, my perception stat has a ( - ) next to it and it shows at 5, but in the perk tree its clearly at 9.
I can't see anything that is reducing it (no addictions and no active effects)

Same thing for me except its with strength.... reducing it to 1 is unbearable wish i knew the fix but i have no idea

I tried using "player.dispelallspells" in the console (in case it was a random effect that wasn't listed) but it didn't change anything.

Managed to fix it using "player.modav perception 4" and its back at 9 now.

tried looking under effects? might say what's wrong

Stat -> Status -> Press [something] to view active effects.

I think it's Q by default maybe? It should say it at the bottom.

I did mention that I had no active effects in the original post. Besides, using player.dispelallspells in the console removes all active effects (including addictions). No crippled head either. I'm guessing it was a bug or something with a cripple debuff not being removed properly or something like that.

I recently had the same problem, my perception decreased from 8 to 5 for no reason, and looking into the Community hub i've found this discussion. Thanks to @AngryViking for the console command code, so i could manage to set back my perception to 8 ( +11 with some attachment)

I mean, if the games bugs you like this, there's nothing wrong by using the console command, am i right? We're not cheating at all, we just fixed a bug the game pop out of nowhere

There is a bug that makes withdrawl penalties permanent. It does not happen often, but in a 30 or more hour play through it will happen to most people.
