Impact of armor on stealth, metal vs leather
Does anyone know how much the impact is? I would prefer adding some survivability with metal armor, but not if it costs too much on my stealth ability. Is it 1% per lb. or 2% or ... yeah. How much does it impact?

I don't know the impact but I was in Shadow Leather now I'm in full Shadow Combat armor modded to lightweight and still the ONLY issue I have sneaking around is the ♥♥♥♥-tarded companions.

technicaly it should matter but i can sneak exactly as good without clothes or with metal armor even with power armor

I guess it's balanced with any sneaking perk you have. Without any of these probably is better to use leather than metal. There is also a difference between shadowed and muffled. Leather does't have the muffled mod, so that means you automatically muffled while wearing it. I don't remember metal, seems to me it can only be shadowed that doesn't mean is automatically muffled probably less that leather.

I think the heavier your armour the louder you are so find the sweet spot between weight and survivability by modding.

You also should craft the leather ultra light build, with shadowed, weight impacts stelth the most.

If your Agility and Sneak are high enough, it doesn't matter. I use unmodded Heavy Combat Armor while sneaking and enemies literally run into me and still don't see me.

Personally I went with leather ulra light build, shadowed. Low health character, took toughness perk, and nerd rage. Also later on in the game you will be able to upgrade the vault suit to give good damage resustances. Of course maxed out sneek, ninja, sandman, bloody mess. And play with silenced weapons, maxed our rifleman and gunslinger. Almost never get spotted and damage boost in stealth is huge. And when I do and they rush me just use my pistol in vats to soften them up before they get to me if they're able to survive and hit me a few times, nerd rage pops you get a huge damage resistance/ damage bonus and slow motion. No one survives that. Really fun build. There are also mods you can get that make you move faster while crouched in stealth. Also a + to leather is energy weapon resistance.

I'm with Rynard here. I wear heavy armor but my sneak and agility are high enough that I can basically walk up to all my enemies and slap them in the face.

Well in that case, meatl armor here I come! until I'm high enough lvl to go fullblown stealth. I'm still throwing molotov's at ghouls on my 2nd playthrough :)

I have all the stealth perks and while wearing my T60 power armor and using a stealth boy i was able to sneak through the prydwen and plant the bombs undetected f***ing the brotherhood right up.
