Beyond 10 S.P.E.C.I.A.L
There are a plethora of benefit's to having a higher then 10 in any special stat.

You can raise a special to 10, and with a bobblehead you can hit a maximum of permanent 11 in any special stat.

Then with gear you can push it even further, with some unquie facial attire you can attain +1 & +2 to either perception or intellect.

With the random affixing from legendary gear from legendary enemies. you can hope to gain a further +1 per peice of equipment, this could mean +1 from a headpiece, chest, both arms and both legs. There are also a couple unique peices of basic clothing that don't count to any of those slot's that also attibute a +1 in some stat's, and +2 in a few, but not all.

Next you can also take power armor into consideration and paint every piece to attain even more special, and more specifically chest power armor can have +2 to stragth.

Finally for a temporary effect, you can take drug's and push for even higher stats.

A character with 10 base strength +1 (bobblehead) +6 from armor, + 2 from food, + 3 from drugs, and another +3 from a different drug and again +5 from a unique quest related source, and finally +6 from wearing full military t60 power armor with a stregth chest would have 36 strength at a given time (about 30 on average and 36 for every 8 minutes), this would mean that this character could carry an extra 350 weight more then a character with 1 strength, they would also deal 4.6 times the base damage for every unarmed and melee weapon, meaning with 5 perk big leagues and a basic unmodded switchblade you could kill a ythic deathclaw on survival with 8 strikes.

Similarly special can go between 28 to 36 points from a combination of legendary gear, facial attire, power armor, drugs and food.

Perception of 30 would make picking pockets without the perk as easy as having the entire perk maxed out, lockpicking sweet spots on master rolls easier to find then novice and vat's accuracy 95% for a headshot with a un modified pistol at maximum possible range.

Endurance at 30 would mean a level 50 character would have 750 hitpoints, and their action point drain for sprinting would be so low you could sprint forever and your AP would never visually deplete.

Charisma of 30 would mean you would buy items at 40% of the original price and sell at 2.3x the original price, as well as have less then 20% the original chance of getting addicted to drugs and alchahol as a charisma of 10 would.

Intelligence of 30 would just net you 90% more exp from every source, however this would make idiot savant chance of proccing almost non existant, itelligence is best obtained late game, using companions to hack terminals and not concerning yourself with your own weapon mods. Idiot savant works much better here for leveling purposes.

Agility of 30 has no effect on sneaking or movement speed, instead a character with 30 agility would have 300 action point's, this would be usefull if you wanted to use the thrid rank of sniper and just sit back and pull off 10 consecutive headshots with a sniper rifle, or you wanted to launch 16 missiles at something in vats.

Luck of 30, would mean even you would find the equivalent of 3 time the caps and ammo then that of full fortune finder and scrounger, even more if you had either capped out. You would also instantly go from an empty critical metre to full from any hostile action, and the chances of a critical hit would be roughly 28%. So one in 3 bullet's from a minigun would crit.

I strongly advise on aiming to achieve both a maximum charisma build for when you want to barter, and a strength build for those who love melee combat. Perception for those who love to use vats, and i guess agility for those who want to literally play as a flying douchebag (jetpack) although it is fun to fly up onto rooftops and the tallest overpasses just to snipe down from, or land those carefully aimed power armor curb stomps from up high.

DFA with a Power Armor airdrop... that'd be fun. :3

Except power armor overrides the armor you wear underneath, so it's better to use normal armor.

did they ever patch out the SPECIAL dogmeat book dupe?
used to be able to dupe them and get fully addicted to drop the stats then reset it for a huge refund and end up with mad high stats

personally its all about charisma now tho, that settlement mods got me hooked
need a good working mod or some legit way to increase the cap without hacking the game into some unstable crapfest

The thought of somebody being so charismatic that you are willing to sell stuff to him at a significant loss and immediately buy it back at 5 times the price is just hilarious.
But I guess I can't be surprised with the kind of player characters people mod into their games.

For legendary armor, you use normal as your get more options (very limited legendary power armor) and stat bonuses from clothes that way.
Also, Far Harbor adds 'unyielding' so you can get +15 to all stats from 5 pieces if you have 25% or less health.
(can keep it up forever with 75% rad sickness if you don't takes perks that remove rads over time)

These are both wrong.
Agility affects sneak and pickpocket (not perception).
Set your agility to 1000 and watch that 0% chance on gatling lasers go to 90%...
(Agility up to 10 points has double the effect (per point) as points over 10)

This is wrong.
The minimum buy price is 120%
The maximum sell price is 80%.
And since when has Charisma affected addiction chance?
It does raise the settlement population cap by 1/point (cap can be bypasses by mechanist quest though).

This is also wrong (aside from filling the crit meter faster).
The chance of a critical hit is always 0% unless you hit space in VATS or use the drug that gives 25%. Luck doesn't seems to add anything to leveled lists - tested with 9000 luck.
(I reset a safe 100 time with 1 luck and with 9000 luck, no noticeable difference in total loot)

Please double check or test stuff...

Late game you don't want xp. Extra levels just make enemies more bullet spongy.
Trust me, I'm level 250 and I'd rather be capped at level 50 :(

Honestly, SPECIAL has much less impact in this version of Fallout than in others. It is mainly for unlocking perks.

FFS it's not a necro post if the version of the game is still current.
