You are talking about a melee that can 1 shot things. Meanwhile in Fallout 4 you can fire mini-nukes. Or you can use fusion grenades.
a. Super fast running speed.
b. Jetpack.
c. Advanced sensors.
Yeah, you aren't going to get close.
