The entire context of the game is entirely unrealistic. Houses would be gone, all canned food would have spoiled hard, nothing would still be running - much less possible to GET running.
Don't think too hard.
"Nuke doesn't blow up car, but missile does" - That's the issue here, heh.
I don't know the reason why, but it doesn't surprise me since I have seen it before.
They already got nuked though.
How exactly are these engines preserved? If they're nuclear powered, they still got ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ bombed 200 years ago.
???
I'm not new to the series, I read all the lore I come across, never heard of this. Although it still doesn't make much sense in my eyes.
Magic
Bethesda wanted you to be able to blow something up
What? lol.
I haven't heard a viable explanation for why these engines are "preserved" for 200 years after being hit by a gigantic nuclear explosion?
Nope. There are military canned rations that are fine for more than 500 years since they are treated with radiation to kill all bacteria.
Fusion and fission engines can be made very simple and if they are made out of stainless steal/ceramics there is nothing that goes bad by age. There are nuclear submarines that have been abandoned for 60years and are still in mint-condition. Nuclear bombs cause heat and pressure waves. A fusion/fission engine would be extremely insulated and would need a penetrating hit to actually take damage.
You have 0 clue.
Pretty much, but I just thought to myself afterwards..Wtf..how does that even make sense lol.
Doesnt explain nuclear detonation though. Cars are still relatively preserved (some even usuable if you look at Fallout 2), yet entire buildings crumble?
Apparently nukes melt steel beams but not cars...
