1: Go up to Hancock, press the tilda to open the console (the ~ key beside the 1)
2: Click on him (an entity id should appear at the top of the console)
3: Type in "resurrect" in the console (without the quotes)
I found that hancock gets stops moving and gets stuck when you do this. If this happens just repeat the resurrection process a few times and he should be back to the way he was.
Thanks for spoiling Hancock's story for me.
Did that a week ago and he wasn't a follower anymore; just stood there. I reloaded save to when he was alive and have been dropping him off at Goodneighbor and he's been fine since. Apparently other companions have been showing up dead so it's a glitch.
If you mean that he is supposed to die? No, it is a glitch, not a story spoiler (Fallout isnot the type of game where a companion dies in the name of plot, unlike some other developers). If it were, I would've flagged it by now. I fixed the issue. If you meant that I spoiled something else, my apologies.
Though I don't condone it, there is a mod for it.
It can't be strictly related to Nick as I've only ever had him as a companion during Reunions and I didn't even get the first relationship dialogue from him. I do have max relationship with other companions, though. Namely, Hancock himself, Curie, Cait and Piper.
Someone else reported the same here: http://steamcommunity.com/app/377160/discussions/0/492378806380846901
If you haven't done this quest yet, I suggest leaving Hancock behind. D: Will try a few things in some previous saves and I'll report back if I find anything close to answers!
Edit: Just reporting back, I tried doing the quest with Nick and sure enough, he stops responding to follower commands as well. This happens about mid-way through the quest after taking out the main deck of the Prydwen and before facing Maxson. Nick didn't die, but I imagine that he could have if he'd taken enough damage. Seems like either this quest or this location cause some issue with the followers/essential markers. So be careful who you bring with you, if anyone!
