Trouble Brewin
So I finished the quest and let out drinking buddy, and I told him to go to the Hotel Rexford, and it told me to follow him. The quest marker was somewhere in between the Taphouse and Goodneighbor when I got there. It won't move, and I can't find Drinking Buddy anywhere. Has anyone else experienced this? I'm trying to find him so I can finish the quest, but I guess I shouldn't have fast traveled?

You should not have fast traveled, since the quest tells you to follow Drinking Buddy, not meet him at the Hotel Rexford. I would recommend loading a save prior to fast traveling and rejoin with Drinking Buddy and walk with him to Goodneighbor

He must be just wandering around somewhere. I am way too far ahead to go back, I could probably just use a console command to complete the quest. I don't want to do that, but I'd rather do that then go that far back.

Well, my buddy died in front of the bar while I was going out... Now I have its body laying there but I can't complete the quest at all...:MMNotGood:

Same problem as you, anyone figured a way to fix this?

Console -> Point on Him -> Type "resurrect" and press Enter - And he is alive again... But dunno if this helps completing the Quest...

Literally the only solution is to load a save from before you left the Taphouse. Once you fast travel, he gets stuck in some fifth dimension that exists within the Goodneighbor load zone but outside of the Goodneighbor boundaries somewhere in the Boston city.
I had this issue and tried everything and nothing worked.

The console command moveto moved me to him, in the low resolution fifth dimension mentioned above, but he wouldn't move at all. I at least was able to load him some recipes (very important when you're trying to fix a mission >_>).

I also tried resetting the mission with the console but then all my quest markers disappeared and the journal progress didn't reset.

So. Yeah. Trust me, you'll save a lot of time if you just load a prior save, since it also takes probably ten to fifteen minutes just to escort him. Also make sure to let him out of the Taphouse before you go outside >_>

Well, i'm ♥♥♥♥♥♥. :/
I don't have a previous savegame.
Guess i'll have to hope for a patch.

I somewhat wish I had this problem - the game is always making new saves for me for some reason.

Level 36, Trouble Brewin quest marker still in the exact same place. Tried to wait it out, maybe he would make it to Goodneighbor. Looks like only solution is console command to complete the quest, give up on Drinking Buddy :(

What console command did you use?
I don't know if i should wait for a patch hoping to fix this. There's probably a slim chance that they might fix this quest bug.

The complete quest console command is listed on that page, along with a bunch of other console commands. Hope it helps, I'll try it maybe... not sure if I'm going to try it or wait for a patch.

Thanks for that. :)
Yeah, i think i'll wait for a patch too, i don't want to screw up the game or miss an achievement.
Meanwhile i will continue with the other quests and side-quests.
