I had to FT twice, after the second time, she showed up with all my gear. This is the first time I FT, and I don't like it personally :P I find if you walk everywhere, it really give more depth to the game, but that's imo. I try to avoid FT at all costs, so I'm a little disappointed I couldn't find another solution to get us back.
If anyone finds a way to get ppl to follow that should, I'm all ears :P
I was determined to do this quest without FT, as I never use it. So I decided to reload my game just as we leave the initial building, and since Lucy Abernathy won't follow me... I'll follow her. lol
After 2 hours of a slow crawl (she doesn't run, unless she gets heated in battle), we made it home. :P I wanted to see where she would go, and sure enough, she made her way back, albeit far from being a straight line. It was interesting to watch the pathfinding she used, haha :)
Give her and AB gun and 1 round, it's interesting to watch her go, lol. Ok, so unlimited ammo is far from realistic, nor is a teleporting and indesctructible dog, but for traveling, I choose realism and walk everywhere (ok, and sometimes run :P).
Note, the Abernathy's have something against two-headed deer and get really upset, determined to destroy them at all cost. It's fun to watch with the AB gun, lol :D
Some would consider a 2 hour trek incredibly dull, but believe me, between her antics, and having to save her butt a few times from nuke-shootin' raiders or a band of mutants, it was actually fun, and often funny :P
Just thought I'd share, lol. Hope you're enjoying this game as much as I am (despite the frustrations of building walls that snap however they want or junk walls leaving big gaps no matter how you try to place them :P ).
Blessings y'all :)
Help?:P
I'll be trying that building again later, it's bugging me :P, so if I figure it out, I'll post a message.
I find I get too many kidnapping, etc. quests from Preston which I prefer not to have. Here's something I'm using that will stop Preston from bringing it up:

Just wanted to share in case you're interested. Have fun traveling the Commonwealth :)
