BUG: The lost Patrol [solved]

Seems like ive stumbled upon a bug. According to a walkthrought you get the Recon Bunker Access Code 429A after you looted Scribe Faris and heared his holotape. But i havent got it by now. Is there something i missed or is it really a bug?

edit: as there are some people every few months, who have the same problem, i quote myself for the solution:
You need to get to 3 different points to solve this quest. I've started it at the second one (at the national guard training point). The quest pointed at the 3rd one (at the revere satellite array) but did'nt hint the position of the first one (battle site north of relay tower 0MC-810).
Try to go to the battle site. the quest should update itself and you should be able to get into the bunker. Also, it could help to use the wiki to find the locations: http://fallout.wikia.com/wiki/The_Lost_Patrol

replay the holotape again. i had the same issue after i loaded the save since i died falling, listening again advanced the quest stage for me.

I have jusr listened to the holotape twice, still cant get the password to get in the bunker, what do I need to do to finish this quest :( ?

Are you sure it's the right holo tape? It can get awfully messy in that inventory

I've completed this quest before, but this time through the game, I've listened to Faris' holotape four times so far, and can't get past that point. Does anyone have any ideas on how to get past this point? And yes, I would call this a bug. Or a glitch. Or whatever...

Only after all 3 sites and holotapes do you get the bunker code. The three can be done in any order.

This is what happens when some dumbass writes innacurrate ♥♥♥♥ for a website.

It would have helped, if you would have read my post above your new one. There, I said, that you need to visit all 3 sites. There, you need, as Bore Peon said correctly, view all holotapes and then you get the code.

It would have helped, if you would have read my post above your new one. There, I said, that you need to visit all 3 sites. There, you need, as Bore Peon said correctly, view all holotapes and then you get the code.

Best then is edit your title put [Solved] no bug.

Good idea. Done. The think with 'no bug' is'nt the right solution, i think, 'cause it is a problem for many ppl. Thus, it only stays at solved.

Thank you, Rex, for pointing out where I missed a location. However, after going there, and after reading the Wiki, I am no further along, as Varham's holotape seems to be missing from his person and from the area around him. I will continue to search for it. Again, my thanks.

Is Varnham the one at the satellite? That stuff seems to fall through the shack onto the gorund below sometimes.

No, Varham is the one at the bombed out house east of Taffington and south of Greentop Nursery. It's off the road a bit, and there's not much left there. Varham is leaning up against an upturned desk with his distress beacon next to him.

if you have console command access you should be able to go to the fallout wiki and get the id code for holotape and add it to your inventory or on the ground, or simply advanced the stage of the quest.
