Settlement (Sanctuary) not generating purified water [solved!]
Does somebody maybe know why my Settlement (Sanctuary) isn't generating any purified water?
I got 6 industrial water pumps, it's generating 249 water, but no matter how much time passed, they aren't generating any Purified Water.

Got 9 people in sanctuary, yes the pumps have more than enough power and yes i know that the purified water is supposed to be stored in the workshop.
I don't have any supply routes.
If i store purified water in the workshop it's even decreasing.

I already tried to take out all purified and dirty water and store them in an other chest, still no new purified water.
I tried to take out all items, but still no water, but got food and materials and junk (at least that works).
Checked if some of my settlers got to much water, nope, none of them has water in their inventory.

Other settlements still generate purified water, but only Sanctuary doesn't...

I'm using Sanctuary as main base, don't really want to use another settlement to get purified water for money/adhesive. :steamsad:

EDIT: I solved the problem for me, even though i'm not sure why that worked but i just added alot of water purifiers and industriell water purifiers to the ones i already had and sanctuary started to generate purified water again.
I had 275 water production while i had that bug, after i built the new purifiers i have now 995 water production.

So if you have the problem, take all your purified water from your workbench (store it in an seperate chest) and add more water purifiers.
I already tried to add water pumps (the ones that only give 3 water) some time ago, but they didn't fixed it, so i guess it has to the (industriell) water purifiers.

i had a similar issue in sanctary , i have about 10 industrial purifiers , left it for ages came back to about 400 water in my workshop , i took 200 with me to do the trade routes to turn to caps , went back to santuary half hour later only to have around 130 water left , so about 70 was missing , so i left it and went off on a side mission only to return to about 30 water . the next day was back up to about 400 so what i do is check the amount , take everything out of the workshop except 80 water ( if i take it all my settlements says i dont have any water for a day and happiness takes a big hit ) and put them in a shiny new container i only use for storing water , presto problem solved i just hav eto remember to keep checking back in sanctuary and taking excess water from workshop to put in another container. it *may* be that settlers take purified water and food from the workshops if they are too lazt to get the resourse them selves . also i found this to speed up id i create a supply line to a settlement with low water , it seems that they leech water / food off the linked settlements , not 100% sure though need to test a bit more

Didn't find a solution and taking out everything, including water, didn't fixed it, like i already said above.
I even tried to fix it by removing all the industriell water pumps and only placing the small pumps that generate 3 Water, still no new water.
Not sure what's causing this problem, the only last thing i can think off, maybe all the companions in sanctuary (got 8 in sanctuary) are causing the problem, didn't tried out sending them somewhere else yet, will try it later.

For now i built 15 Industriell Pumps in The Castle, to get tons of purified water, already got around 20K Purified Water from there without any problems.

Havent experimented with this myself yet but i saw a vid on youtube and he had it placed in the river.

Maybe you guys have to place it in the river/water for it to work if you havent? dunno as i havent tried this yet so just a suggestion.

You can only place the bigger pumps in the water, it's impossible to place them outside of water.

I sent the companions out of sanctuary also thinking that was the problem. That didn't seem to fix it either.

Finally, I think I figured out my problem. It seems my Sanctuary wasn't generating any purified water because I had too much dirty water in my workshop storage. The game doesn't seem to tell the difference between dirty and purified water. Either that or I also noticed one of my companions was assigned to crops and that was making the game act wonky so I sent him to another settlement. Hope this helps

My experience is that the game automatically deposits excess purified water once every 24 hours, but if there's purified water already in storage then it won't deposite anything until you take it all out.

I built a cooler beside a crafting station for the exact reason that's also right beside a trading station and a weapon station for convenience's sake.

I have the problem, I move around stuff a lot, am wondering if my tendancy to dump all scrap at sanctuary is overloading something, anyway, presently, removing all water from the bench, makes water spawn, but food still doesn't show up, no idea about scrap, because i'm tired of moving all my crap around manually betwen containers. Water production had halted entirely for a while there, then I planted a row of mut fruit and used my beacon to get a new settler in to farm it and suddenly, I started getting water again. BUT, if I craft using water, while the water is still in the bench, it stops working again, till i empty out all the water and restarted the game. Hence, getting scrap to show up again, is just not practical, because I can't haul around all my scrap when crafting, then put it all back again.

I plan to try using red rocket as my scrap dump, basically, link it to sanc, which i don't usually bother with, leave all crafting components at that work bench and see if my sanc one starts producing properly.

I had the same problem with not generating water until I invested in the Local Leader perk and connected the settlement to another 1. Then I started generating water correctly.

I had this problem as well. Recently I started saving dirty water for syringer ammo. That's when the water stopped flowing. I cleared the "aid" section of my workshop and it started coming in again. I'm only in sanctuary and I have 7 settlers. No supply lines(nowhere to link them anyway) My water production is 1580(yes, you read that right). I get just over 1k bottles of water at a time.

I just started having this problem as well. I just built several additional Industrial purifiers because I heard that water farming was a good source of income, and now there's no purified water in my workshop inventory; however, when I use a crafting station in the settlement it still says I have 64 purified water at my disoposal (that sounds like the amount that should be in my workshop). Fine for crafting, but I want to sell my excess water.

scavenge empty bottles, put in workshop, activate junk scavenge machine, purified water comes.

+1 This is exactly what I experience as well.

No need for bottles of any kind. As I said above, I'm getting over one thousand bottles of water at a time. None of them required an empty bottle. I currently have a crate with over 20,000 bottles of purified water in it.
