Repetitive Missions without end?
Oh boy... I so gonna start a flamewar with this, but... here goes nothing.

Ok, I do not mind per se the idea, that a game implements endless missions. Like the settlements or the MILA. BUT, I really wish the game would somehow highlight the difference.

I build and saved so many settlements by now, and I started the MILA quests too, and I get the nagging feeling they are just endless too. Now the point is, which bugs me, I simply don't know which I can just overlook. I mean, take the Settlements. I have by now raised probably 12-15 Settlements, most pretty good defended. But beyond the points where I unlock the Keep Armory, I haven't seen anything and there is just an endless stream of Settlement missions. So I wonder: does it ever end is some meaningful way? Like whoopsie, now we build 15 Settlements and you become President of the Commonwealth and Raiders were defeated. Or something.

You know like with the Dragons in Skyrim, at some point you defeated the endboss, and mostly the Dragon attacks were ended.

Same with those MILA quests froim the Railraod, and the quartermaster and knight quests from the BOS. I never know if they will at some point lead to anything, or is it just to keep me endlessly busy?

I noted that even cleared places are suddenly filled again, and I dont like THAT one bit! I prefer placed cleared with finality, unless a real story purpose refills them.

Sigh.

I really dont want to abandon the settlements, but I have now as many as I can handle, since regularly turrets and other stuff breaks, so you need to check in for repair, put the radio beacons on and off, if you have too many or too few. The number just is a hassle now, but I dont want all the hard work fall into nothing, either.

There are a lot of small quality of life things that Bethesda overlooked in this game, to be quite honest. Still a great game IMO.

Unfortunately, we just gotta wait for mods to make everything better again. Someone will probably make one to label/highlight the repeatable quests, so that its easier to tell the difference.

The MILA quests actually do have an end, granted there isn't a special reward for doing them all or anything, but eventually Tinker Tom will figure out that it isn't worth sending you to do that.

How many times will "my friend be kidnapped"? Been about a dozen so far.

I feel you.

I wish they had the option for you to dump materials in the workbench and let settlers build a default base. Construction is fun at first, tedious after awhile when you spend an hour mucking around instead of exploring and killing crap. For those who do like construction, they can opt out of default and build however they want.

I feel ya, 10 mila missions later im like WTF dude? and you dont have a choice to decline you automatically get the new quest soon as you complete the old one.

As far as settlements.. uugh I to have a bunch .. so many I have a long scroll ..and to what point? I keep getting missions to run here and help people .. it should be setup in a way where I can choose to let them live in there craphole after helping them or saying "hey would you like to live in my castle?"

I kiinda wish they would distinguish 'radiant' quests from 'misc' and 'story' quests, or at least 'important'/'priority' quests

There is a limited number of settlements that can possibly be unlocked, after which you still have the infinite number of kidnappings and "settlement is scared by X at Y" missions.

A simple change in Preston's dialog tree would help; instead of having him automatically offer you a new quest for your logs, offer an option for you to ask whether there are any promising settlement locations, and also whether there are any settlements that could use assistance. That way, you can request more such quests whenever you want them (well, not an unlimited number of settlements). Probably not a difficult mod when the GECK is out.

Like with shank and the Raider missions

Just avoid Preston and don't listen to Freedom radio, and you won't get any kidnapping quests. You'll still get the radiant defense quests, but if the settlement's got good numbers then you've only got a 12.5% chance of losing the battle if you don't show up.

The broken turrets and such stop when you defeat the Institute, those are synth sabotage.

And wow, what necro...
