ps. Try leaving any companions waiting outside of the "Science! Center" in the future when entering, to hopefully avoid whatever the hell this is, lol.
I would credit the person who orignally issued this idea(ironiclly in that forum, his statement/salution seemed to go completely overlooked) but I can't seem to relocate said forum, thus cannot find the post. Still, much love for you dear sire.
I appreciate you taking the time to reply with a solution to this bug. However, upon entering my game the bug seems to have fixed itself somehow. It was a strange thing, really. I loaded up my game to where I last saved, inside Sanctuary, and I could hear Nick's "ticking" nearby. I didn't move my own character while I thought of where I wanted to put my current companion while I took Nick on a trip to Diamond City.
While I was standing there, I saw something fall to the ground, out of thin air. About that same exact moment, Nick's ticking stopped. I walk over to the mysterious object and see that it was (without spoiling anything) a quest-item/article of clothing I thought I had previously lost to the void while trying to place it on some shelves in my house.
So who knows, maybe the game received some minor bug fixes between my gameplay from yesterday and just now.
Again, I appreciate you for sharing that solution with me. If for some reason Nick starts ticking again, I will take him to Diamond City.
On another note. The steam user who orignally posted this fix was "iCer". Credit where credit is due. :)
Too bad, I guess, I got fond of calling him "two-stroke".
Thanks to everyone on this post you are all gentlefolk and scholars, ye all!:steamha
UPDATE: The SCience! Center workbench worked! Piper finally piped down. :P
/Edit: Okay, or maybe not. As soon as I exit the Science-Center, she starts buzzing again...
