I loved my repeater and 'That Gun'.
--> I'm not sure if .44 was in that list, but there are several options to pick from if you got a few points in the gun nut perk.
Not sure about the .44 modification but there's no options for any lever actions from what I've seen, I'm hoping for another Gun Runners Arsenal type DLC for more weapons and getting the repeaters and such back into the game. I like the guns now but I feel they are limited compared to previous titles, the pipe guns were cool at first but now I just see a piece of junk everytime I see one. I'm satisfied using my .44 hand cannon though it would be cool to see some western style revolvers as well. Also a true cowboy hat and duster would be nice, fix the back of the militia hat and I'd be happy, the back being bent upwards annoys me haha.
Pipe revolvers are one of the only Pipe weapons to remain potentialy relevant all game, because they are the only weapon that can be a "Pistol" and take .45 ammo. They can also be later modified to take .308 ammo (more practical than a bolt action pipe pistol), further widening your handgun options. But that's a freakin Gunslinger 4 tier mod I think (just like downgrading weapons to .38 ammo is rank 4 lol).
Honestly, I'd actually use pipe revolver handguns even on my rifle based guy, if not for the fact Pipe guns can only have a can with nails in it for their tactical sight (and yet they are allowed to have digital recon scopes...).
