Changing the pipboy hud color changes the light color
Now, granted, it should given that when you use the pipboy light it's just making the screen really bright, but I didn't realize this until many hours in. Turned my hud to a more natural yellow and I'm finding it's much more pleasing than the standard green. Easier to catch things and I don't mind leaving it on so much.

Figured I'd post it here. Maybe help someone realize something that shouldn't have taken me quite so long.

This. It also makes the text in the inventory so much easier to see.

Must be a bug. Never happened to me. It should save automatically. Never change unless you change it.

Better late than never, but yes, your pip boy is your flashlight. If you equip a mining helmet, you use that light instead. You can change that to various colors. Same with Power Armor helmets. X-01, the eyes light up.

Yes, you have your ini file set to read only. Changing that will fix this issue.

Its super simple. Just go to whatever drive the game is stored on (its usually your C drive)
Go to documents
My games
Fallout 4
Theres a file in there named "fallout 4"
Just right click and go to properties
And click off "read only"
Done
No more having to reset the colors
