No texture for leather armor

Has anyone else had this issue? I equip leather armor on either myself or a settler and the armor doesn't show.

The character is instantly nude in just underwear. The leather armor is quite a bit better than what my settlers have but I am not opening a nudist colony here.

Alot of clothing can't be combined with armor parts. For instance, the Vault Suit/Road Leathers/Military Fatigues(and more) you can put anything on, but with the Drifter Outfit/Leather Coat/Spike Armor(and more) you can't add anything. Then there's a couple of pieces of clothing like the Athletic Outfit for instance where you can put any armor on, except leg pieces.
When you view the clothing item it should show which parts can be armored.

It's not that (I don't believe). I put an entire suit of leather armor on Sturges and he walks around in his undies. The armor is equiped according to his inventory but he is simply naked walking around.

I made sure his regular clothes are unequiped-they do so automatically.

Nevermind I got it.

The leather chest is not a "complete suit", you still need something under it like long johns or a harness. Duh.
