Black Screen after using Barber/Face Reconstruction (Got a fix for you guys)

So, after using the Face Reconstruction service in Diamond city, the screen went black for awhile and was 'loading' (as evidenced by the pinging loading icon in the lower right) but the game world was still running and I could hear sounds, dialog, and even change my weapons using the favorite keys. The delay was concerning, but it ended after a couple of minutes.

What really caused a problem was going to the barber to get a new hairdo to match my new face with the look I was going for. This caused the screen to black out and do the same thing, but STAY THAT WAY FOREVER. I literally let it sit this way for about 20 minutes by itself 'loading'. This is obviously a bug.

The fix?

Save your game, (quicksave works) then load it back up again afterwards. You'll keep your hair and new face, and the game will run normally. Figured I'd post this for anyone who experienced this frustrating issue. (I Was NOT happy having to forego barbers for the rest of my game with this character.)
