Companion mods are gonna blow the standard ones out of the water though, they don't really have much to say atm. One of the weakest aspects of Beth games tbh.
Youy haven't gotten very far with a single companion have you? If you are mainly doing the main quest, codsworth is an invaluble story ally, he's your british robot butler who wants to find your kid as much as you and thinks of you as family.
