I managed to fix mine after weeks of frustration. My fix was to put the game in the same directory as my Steam install (i.e. both on my C drive). Up to now I have been running games off my D drive. No idea why it stopped working all of a sudden. If others have done the same as me the following link shows how to move a game.

I have the same S:0000065432 error but i already moved it onto my drive using this post too. I am getting the error about a month later (now) and i don't know how to fix it.
Laptops... sigh.
When you do not have the laptop plugged into an outlet, the "power profile" reduces CPU processing, turns off GPUs if possible and does everything it can to keep the power requirements low, conflicting with the demands of intensive games.
There should be a sticker on all gaming laptops saying "Only play casual games that work with Integrated Graphics while running on batteries".
The vendors NEVER warn you.
However, thanks for the knowledge it was apreacieated.
I have a Gaming Laptop that engages both the battery and the power from the supply as an optional mechansim to boost performance while playing games.
You can also select "maximum performance" while using batteries to get good gameplay at the expense of greatly reduced battery runtimes.
Settings other than "maximum performance" power profiles can and will selectively & actively reduce power to usb and other devices affecting gaming and controller input.
This may be why some people complain of lag or other similiar controller issues too.
Verifying game files integrity, full reinstall, system restart...nothing helped?
