You cannot remap all keys and if you remap a used key the function is gone :-(
Thanks for your consideration pointing that out for sure. Quite a few other people appear peeved off about it.
At least good studios like the people that made The Witcher 3 got off their backsides and eventually fixed that re-map issue after complaints at launch: pretty much fixed it all.
WASD for movement, R to reload, E/F to use, CTRL/C to crouch, V to melee, Enter to talk, basically every game I have setup
But, I am a right handed player, who grew up to use mouse left handed.
I find it isn`t really practical or possible to use a controller properly for any game with over 20 commands. Fine for an arcade game... but this is supposed to have depth.
Many thanks otherwise.
Its BS to claim 99.9% of other lefties play right-handed. In fact its a downright lie where there is ZERO Evidence to support it.
NumberKeypad is the way proper left-handed players use the keyboard in such games as this for the past 15 or so years.
I use arrow keys to walk
its annoying i have to go over to E and other keys over there to do stuff.
And num pad keys are locked which is a damn shame because it would make the game perfect for a leftie like me if i could remap keys around arrow keys.
Really hope Bethesda does something about this?
Thanks for the consideraiton...
For 15 years or more, I have re-mapped NUMBERPAD 8, 4, 5, 6 for WASD and use NumPad_0 for Re-load and NumPad_Enter for Sprint. Forwardslash for Activate, and Plus+ for `kick em in the goolies` etc.
NumPad Star for Torches, and NumPad_7 for Jump and NumPad_9 for crouch.
Right arrow is usually for scope or Stealth.
Home button for Inventory
etc... etc..
Works a treat since Half-Life and five hundred or more Games I bought since then.
Its only recently that coders have got really lazy. WatchDogs, then Dark Souls 2, then The Witcher 3 nerfed such controls; but only The Witcher 3 put out a fix when they heard all the complaints (I had already put out a downloadable Left-handed Mod for the keyboard ini file for that game).
I can only hope the Fallout 4 team wake up and fix that glitch also, or its another game I will avoid like the plague since the blood-curdling rage that WatchDogs causes with its reset everytime the game is started. Around 30 or 40 keys to re-map every freakin time. Never again will I pay to be annoyed like that.
I will take a look; but I found someone who said customising some controls causes all the controls to stop working.
Fix is here

I used to play the standard(Right-Handed) way for years, and years and years, until I finally figured out why my gameplay was always off. Swapped to Left-Handed mouse and Keybinds a few years back and my gameplay has improved drastically. I won't go back now, absolutely refuse to play Right-Handed again.
I dropped the extra cash on a Razor Blackwidow Keyboard and Razor Naga(Left-Handed buttons), now, no matter what game comes out, keybinds can piss off, I have the load out saved in Razor Synapse.
Seriously, Lefties, if you are like me, drop the cash on a keyboard that you can save keybinds on, don't wait for a 'fix' for a game when it comes out.
Checking that. A TON of THANKS.
