The only other thing I can think of is that I advanced the Minutemen questline further along.
Do you know at what point they lock you out of the BoS for doing Minutemen quests?
I didn't go down the minutemen road completly. Did you pick them for building the institute transmitter? If yes, there is a point at which you can choose a mission to shoot down the BOS Airship. Triggering that mission would bea possibility.
On another note, you did Mass Fusion for the BOS? I thought the Danse quests is needed to be completed for that, so you can become a Paladin and complete Liberty Prime.
The game does a few saves automatically. Like on travelling and stuff. Did you look trough your saves?
Also, depending on your outcome with danse, it might have failed because alive Danse left the Commonwealth. If you've killed him you have triggered something that jumps that quest. Bringing the quest npc into a state where he can't respond to your quest anymore. I don't think it's a bug.
I saved Danse, then proceeded to finish building up settlements for the Minutemen before reporting back to the Elder. I've already built Liberty Prime, and was attempting to take all the questlines to their limits without turning hostile against the other factions, for exploration.
Building 8 settlements triggered the Defend the Castle quest.
As SOON as you finish the Defend the Castle quest, you INSTANTLY FAIL all BoS missions, as it leads into the Minutemen's 'ending'. There was no warning, nothing. It's a complete pain in the ass, as there was no pop-up telling me I'd failed Blind Betrayal, or I'd have loaded an older save at the time. As it stands, that was ten hours ago. I'm locked out of doing the Radiant quests for the BoS, Danse won't rejoin me because I haven't been promoted to Paladin, etc.
By the looks of things, this is a fairly major oversight in the scripting of this quest, or a bug.
The fact that I've been stopped from doing ANYTHING with the BoS without actually turning against them is ridiculous, and I feel like I've just wasted my character's potential for exploration!
The Railroad locked me out as soon as I botched the rescue mission by going ahead with the BOS quests, and now I've been locked out of the BOS stuff by following the Minutemen! :P
Ah well, screw the BoS, I can finish them in another playthrough. It's a shame though, I wanted to save the Minutemen ending for when all the sweet settlement mods came out in 2016. Not to worry...an excuse for a fourth playthrough I suppose! Thanks for your input dude :)
