Im sure a good amount of us have completed this mission but is anyone else confused about the "Failed: Complete Research Project" even though we DID complete it? Also im unable to drop the Samples....

Did you figure out the combination of the samples and actually finish the project? Or did you just leave?

you can drop the unused samples with console commands. google fallout 4 cambridge polymer labs you will find all the information there in the wiki.

Its stupid that you have to do that in the first place, even though they don't weigh anything.

As for the OP, did you get the Piezonucleic armor? If you did not then you failed to complete the project. When I did it I got quest completed, so if you got the armor piece and still failed it must have been a bug.

Yeah you cant drop the pieces after you've done the right combination. If you go to the notes section here: http://fallout.wikia.com/wiki/Cambridge_Polymer_Labs theres some console codes you can use to drop those items....jsut make sure you have completed the quest first.
