How does Green man gaming work for pre-orders?
hoping to shave some money back into my wallet, but im wondering if GMG gives the steam pre-order key as soon as i buy it, or do i have to wait untill the game comes out and they give me the game key.

My friend bought the Season Pass on GMG and it said he'll recieve the key for it the day the game comes out. I would assume that also applies to the game.

My previous pre-orders on GMG, they have always given me the key a few days ahead of time so I could pre-load. Definitely do not get it right away as I haven't got mine yet.

Sometimes you will get the key a day early for pre-load.

I pre-ordered on GMG then cancelled it as I was worried I would not be able to preload. When I confirmed it there was no game key and it sounded like there would not be one till release day.

GMG will send you your key asap. If there's a preload you'll get your key within 12 hours of the preload starting. If not then you'll receive your key the day before release so you can register it.

Same price as Steam but with discount vouchers available almost permanently.

Sure.

I've always received my key before release for pre-load. Mad Max was the last one. Never had issues with playing games on release. Picked up Fallout 4 from them with a 23% discount voucher just 2 days ago. I figure I may as well save some money, no point in spending more on Steam if there isn't an incentive to do so.
