So we've had a lot of America covered...
FO5:London (and greater London, maybe up to Essex, def. including the M25);

What would it be like?

Yes, silly thread to blow off some ... 'Steam' :(

I lied:

OK, not changing the title, but imagine it was more over the entire North of the EU

Many different feelings over so many countries. Spain does not feel like France does not feel like UK or Denmark etc...

Perhaps too big a shift (and this was only for open discussion) but when you travelled from one location to another (Paris to Madrid) you would feel like you have really travelled...

A lot of the US looks the same, no offence - a lot of the UK looks the same, but different to France, is my point...

And 50's UK and 50's UK / EU are not that different - we had bad wallpaper too!

Uhhhh ... England, or Europe in general, (unless eastern) would a pretty boring place to have a Fallout game.

Genuine question - how come? Why is EU 'boring' compared to NA?

I would rather counter your question since you seem to be the one who wants this.

What makes EU/ UK interesting? Why would they place a game in EU over NA. I would rather Asia or Africa before EU.

Since it would be very small. If you read the lore the EU countries started to fight themself before it started. Then the nuclear war started. It would probably be 100x more messed up than DC was in Fallout 3.

I guess so, but how would they implement that into the game? Imagine all the US states. Now imagine half of them hate eachother for various reasons, speak different languages, all have different cultures .... It would just be a ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥. Not to mention you couldn't possibly get all of it right and you're bound to mess something up.

Besides ..... Nobody in Europe has any cool toys anyways ... Besides the governments there.

It would require a serious genre shift, as Fallout is based on 50s American culture.
Still, it's an idea to consider for a DLC or even a spin-off.

Yeah but that could lead to some intersting areas, there are still people Allistar Tenpenny is from England.

Personally I really want to see China or a Chinese colony as a DLC, I think I remember in the cancled Fallout Tactics 2 was going to go through Alaska then parts of Russia then Mongolia ending in China fighting aginst the current emperor.

There is a strategic aspect to this also. The US is huge compared to the EU. Texas alone is what? 2/3rds of france and germany combined?

nukes on major cities would fallout for much much larger area then in the US. Even in the Lore there are area that have zero radiation. Would I love to see an Fallout EU? ♥♥♥♥ yea. Its just not stragetically viable.
DELONG Oct 14, 2015 @ 5:19pm
im not from the US but i want all fallout games to stay in USA .just seems right
Zaris Oct 14, 2015 @ 5:26pm
Fallout should stay in the US. For europe we get a post apocalyptic rpg from Piranha Bytes called "Elex" in 2016/17 which could be crap like Risen or mediocre/good like Gothic 1-3.

Fallout what place on China would be nice idea because China was the other country who launch nukes and participate Great War...

Well the reason for that is Fallout history is exactly the same as ours but it stops after WWII is when it all changes. There is however certain stuff in the past like Mothership Zeta and certain DLC items and stuff inside 3 and NV that is explained more in the history.

- Source Fallout wiki. http://fallout.wikia.com/wiki/Timeline

"September 2: Japan officially surrenders to the Allied Powers, and World War II completely comes to an end. Sometime between now and 1961, divergence occurs." - This states sometime from 1945 and 61 is when the timeline changes.

This is the reason for everything atomic "The transistor, invented in our world in 1947, was not developed in the Fallout universe until the decade just before the Great War (2067),

Television failed to evolve past 1960s level, why its all black and white etc. Nuclear reactors are for energy, nothing really like solar or wind powered places. The one in New Vegas was designed as a weapon not energy.

If you love fallout lore, read this http://fallout.wikia.com/wiki/Divergence it shows how much the US changed, how atomic power was used and how the fallout universe focus on technology differed from ours.

Hmm interesting. But if there are non American countries that have not been hit by bombs, what have they been doing for 200 years. Their tech would be much better (America had lasers and power armour when the bombs hit) Also there is probly no super mutants as that was developed in the site in fallout 1....
