Fallout 5
Does anyone know if Bethesda will be making a Fallout 5 or anything like that?

I don't think new post Microsoft+Sweet baby inc Bethesda can make a game as good as old Bethesda.
They keep firing their essential people, if you want a game to be a work of art don't fire Picasso.

I'm more a Renoir fan. :steamhappy:

I once worked at Boeing. They had a saying under the new management: find the essential person and fire him. I was essential. Old management literally said I was marked to never layoff. So new management replace me and 3 others with a 100 people including leads and management up to 3rd level.

Wish they managed there time better for fallout, Let Bethesda drag @ss and continue the Fallout 5/6/7 route but just let obsidian make there own Bethesda approved fallout game in-between there ESO or other planned projects, That way we have a fallout every 5-7 years instead of every 15-20 years.

My god will i even enjoy games once fallout 5 comes out? Probably be a old man.
Even if Obsidian was the same as the team that did NV, they won't do the mistake of letting them, or another dev/studio, handle the fallout IP and end up making a better one than the mainline ones. And given both the failure and disappointment of S***field and how they are trying to retcon their mistake with the trash TV show, I suspect that they will never let another touch their IPs again

Yeah. Boeing forced me into retirement. They figured two less experienced employees at lower pay could do my job. But they keep quitting when they find out what the job really entails.

They may not have the choice anymore.

They are not in charge of their IP anymore. Microsoft is. And Microsoft is not in a good position right now. So IF Microsoft thinks they need a Fallout game AND an Elder Scrolls game at roughly a year apart, then they will farm out whatever IP to another in house studio as they see fit.

And if Bethesda can't "do" it. then , then Microsoft can/will/has just shut the Bethesda studio down, and keep the IP, and move it around as they feel like....

Or even it sell it if they end up in that position too... (which may be closer then people think!)

At this point all of this is irrelevant. Unless you're one of the people in love with FO76 and Starfield, it doesn't really matter which studio makes which games at this point as whoever makes it, it will be suspect at this point.

The amount of bad takes in this thread from people still insisting Bethesda is using Gamebryo to the people who think Obsidian is the same studio that produced New Vegas. 😒

Similar happened to my old man. He only had 3 years to lock in his full retirements benefits. He was well paid and VERY skilled at his job. They canned him and replaced him with 3 kids right out of college that they could pay peanuts and give no benefits to. 18 months later the branch folded because of brain drain. No one was left that knew how to DO things and how things actually worked.

We'll you can't help stupid though, but I hope the transition to Lockheed Martin was a nice one lol or any of the other competition, I hope you shared every last one of Boeing's secrets with them to, I know I would of.

That could land you in jail. Companies take a very dim view of people stealing Proprietary Information . . so does the USG. Several years ago Boeing got hammered with a huge fine when it turned out that a former LockMart employee that they'd hired to work on a competitive proposal had boxes of stolen Lockheed documents in his garage. Although Boeing proved that they hadn't used any of that data, it still cost them millions in fines and a threat from the USG of disbarment from bidding on future Government contracts.

FO 76 killed the FO-Franchise. There will be no more single player game.

I'm a "fanboi", when I call someone out for stating some speculative nonsense like "There won't be a Fallout 5 because Fallout 76", and selling it as a fact?

That's quite a stretch, friend, even for someone so obviously illiterate as you.
