Yup, definite advantage with Prestons perk and about Preston. You wipe out every turn-coat Minuteman that ever gave Prestons group a problem. Take back Quincy. Kill everybody there. What do you get from Preston for it ....... silence, nothing.
I use the mod that keeps Dogmeat and allows another companion. With Dogmeat and Ada I can carry a fair amount .
This is the most boring answer in the universe.
Preston has more to say in his appearance as you will ever get in your head a life time. He is a fine character and teaches people to stay together. If you ever have been listening to him there is heart and soul in his words and his quests are very useful for beginners.
Make up your mind and don't repeat the same ol' ♥♥♥♥ of hundreds of other blockheads spread in the forum.
Wow, what a jerk to say that. Do you even know Betagende skønhed in rea llife ? You're being an ass to a stranger, without reason, that's litteraly what Preston dislikes. He's not a fine character, he has good intentions but his personality has just not been developed at all. Don't mix up character traits with character development : Every secondary character has their own little twist, and they feel like they would exist in a world like this, but Preston is just out of place. The Commonwealth is supposed to be a place filled with vermin trying to kill you and where people don't have time to get old, yet he behaves like he's a protagonist in a cartoon show; the very fact that he calls himself naive in one of the dialogue lines makes absolutely no sense and shows how bad Bethesda can be at making interesting characters and storylines. Preston's only defining feature is that he wants to make the world a better place, and excuse me but that other person's right, that's simply boring. It'd be less boring if through character development you'd discover more traits about him and also a dark part about that guy; as we all have "bad" traits. Preston simply feels unreal. Feels like a synth that was programmed to be "generic_good_guy.exe" and that's it. Also his quests are alright but they feel pretty generic, there's little to discover in these quests except "Go to X and help Y then report to me"; there's no alternate path and it's always against generic, crappy enemies.
So yeah there must be a reason why "hundreds of other blockheads in the forum" are saying that Preston is just about the worst follower - and least interesting character - in the game.
I swear I've killed botflies with more personality than him
Enter console mode with the tilde key (~) and enter the following command:
player.modav carryweight XXXXX
where XXXXX is a positive integer
I set mine to 40000 and have never been even close to becoming overloaded. I'm a pack rat and pick up absolutely everything I can. I purely hate wanting to make/build something and need to spend 2-3 days playtime running around scrounging up the stuff I need.
Just remember to dump your "junk" whenever you go to one of your settlements and you'll be all set.
EXPLOIT!
(kidding obviously)
