Weird weapon draw sound bug.
Picked up a new bug and I can't get rid of it.

Whenever I draw any weapon, the sound of the drawing is very loud and sound as if I'm drawing many weapons at the same time.

I've verified the game cache and tried logging off and back into the game, no joy.

The only mention of it on the web is one guy who had the exact issue but seemed to have been able to fix it by removing all attire, sleeping naked for an hour and then re-equipping clothes. Didn't work for me.

Anyone have any ideas on how to fix this? It's not game-breaking and only happens when I need to first draw a weapon, such as after entering or leaving my PA.

Not sure how or why, but when I made myself 2 new guns and switched my favorites to them and then stored the old ones, the problem went away. Weird bug. All these hours played and 1st time I've seen it.

For anyone having this issue; for me it was related to grenades. Once I unequipped them the noise stopped. Might help for some.

Thank you! Probably just saved me hours upon hours troubleshooting this. Any idea what's cuasing this though? It was doing it when I had pulse grenades equipped. Could be a mod? Maybe the Grenade Expansion Pack mod?

Actual legend. I would've only lost about 30 mins of gameplay but I would've lost a two-shot legendary. I had grabbed some Nuka-nades and I equipped them funky-like one at a time. thought it was weird but they all stacked together afterwards so I thought nothing of it. unequipped them all and reequipped them and the problem was solved. Leaving my solution hear to for you future readers that need this. These discussion boards are some of the first on google and have helped me and many others solve problems. hope this helps you as much as it did me. now back to collecting guns, but THAT is a story for another day...

Worked for me too, thanks a lot for saving me lots of time.

I suspect the Nuka Constant grenades introduced by Xander's Aid mod to be the problem. I did not have the sound problem with any other grenades.

Still getting this bug in 2023. It was the grenades. But it wasn't some specific or modded grenade, but the fact that the game marked TWO types of grenade in use at the same time.
It had molotov AND plasma grenade active.

clicking on one of them removed both and I could choose a single one again, which also fixed the sound bug.

Thanks for this very helpful post here.

I don't know if there are still players similar to me until 2024 who are bothered by this issue. In my case, with a nuclear grenade equipped, I hear strange other sound effects when I pull out the weapon (I don't have this problem with the rest of the grenades or mines equipped). The solution I've found so far is to remove the nuke grenade's equipment sound by using esp editor. The effect is overwhelming. (This bug has never been fixed by official or even unofficial patches)
