Neither are hard, but if you insist on playing NW as a good guy, you'll be upset at how little there is to do, so do that first. Actually, do NW first anyway. Because after doing all the bad stuff and making good people hate you, you need some good karma, go do FH and be a hero... then wipe out the raiders if you want, or go full evil and wipe out everyone else. (it's hard to end the game that way, but it's sure fun!)
grumble grumble... wants it to be easy... I swear... grumble grumble... these kids today don't understand nothin...
when you do the nuka world quests all the way through it will lead you back to the commonwealth with raiders who will expect you to be raiding your own settlements :P
But you're going to love (hate) Red Eye!
"Hey, here's a friendly reminder: Sure, nobody likes the traders... but you can't kill 'em all, or else there won't be anyone around to do all the s***ty work you a**holes won't do. Think about it!"
Did you know there are mods for the Christians that take the false idolatry thing too far, to remove the Daedra worship from Skyrim? Yes it's a game, but it could be a tool of the Great Satan! It might entice you over to devil worship and heavy metal music!
Fallout 3 the first 3D FPS one, had slavery and torture and sex workers, and some people ONLY play for that, have all kinds of mods for 3, NV, and this one. (that we cannot actually talk about here) There are realistic screaming and crying sound mods because people literally want that experience.
I only wish I was kidding about either of those but I'm not... and that's the thing, everyone can do what they want, it's one of the reasons all the Bethimax games are old now and still played daily by new and veteran gamers in the thousands.
I still say do NW first, but you are free to start both and jump back and forth without ever advancing either storyline... that's Fallout, baby! ;-)

Don't go to Nuka-world until you have level 3 the lockpick and hacker rewards. I recall some locks and hacks were necessary to run the gauntlet, but I could be mistaken.
IMHO, both have boring rigmarole that you have to complete to get there, which is boring if you have to repeat it once every play through
Any lock necessary to continue in the main quest (of the vanilla game or DLC) will always be of Novice level and not require any perks. (Having a tougher lock than that in the Gauntlet wouldn't be done, as you can not leave there once entered. So if you didn't have the perk, you would permanently be stuck and could never leave.) The locked doors instead open shortcuts, to bypass some of the Gauntlet.
As far as I remember, I think the same applies to any lock involved in a quest. The only exceptions are quests where you are given a companion that can bypass the lock (like with Deacon and getting into the Switchboard), or are given other options (like finding Kelloggs keys below his house).
