Fallout London Help Please (Graphics and Sneak?)
I followed all the instructions and Fallout London is working for the most part, however, I notice two issues.

1. The textures look primitive. I have everything set to Ultra in the Fallout Launcher, but they don't seem to make a difference. Then I switched it to Low and everything looks the same. I wonder if there is a way to manually set it in the .ini files but I don't see any where to do that.

2. I can't find the sneak button. I thought I saw it in settings, but now it's missing. Literally, I cannot set a control for this.

If anyone is playing this and happens to know how to fix these things I would be very grateful.

Your best bet is to go to where you GOT the game, GOG, and ask on their forum which is specific to the FOLON game.

Did you downgrade your Steam installed Fallout 4? Not really recommended, since it's a messy process that if you didn't anticipate doing well before the update changed everything, it will have a laundry list of issues. Either way, this isn't the folon forum, or their discord.

with the latest patch 1.02 I did a fresh install of Fallout 4 then Fallout London I found that I had the 2 games side by side and there was no Fallout4Launcher.exe (which is what you use to adjust the settings) in the Fallout London directory but I could use the exe in the Fallout 4 directory to adjust settings so the two directories are linked.

Textures was one reason why i got rid of Fallout London.

Mixing it with HD tetxtures made it even worser.

Hi all, thanks so much for the quick response. I have been eagerly anticipating this game, so I do want to try it. My fallout 4 Launcher does appear to launch Fallout London, and it says everything is ultra, so maybe it is and I don't remember how old the graphics are, or it says it is but isn't working. I tried looking at various .ini files in both documents and D:drive and Mods but I didn't see graphics settings in them, but maybe I missed it.

@Genu: Oh, are the textures just low resolution?

Thanks again everyone.

Update: My last recorded key for Sneak is now working, now that I updated to the installer but the ability to change it is missing. Weird.

The steam version isn't even compatible with FOLON. why ask here?

FOLON is using standard textures from the base game and addtions made for Fallout London.

The graphic quality isnt - lets say impressive - so i tried to improve it with HD replacers. the result was mediocre, a mix of standard textures, blurry fallout london textures and some HD textures.

Here is a example. The swan is from Fallout London

Mine looks a million times worse. That's great!! Can you please tell me how you replaced the textures?

At Xenon, I wasn't really sure where to ask. I mean, the FOLON mod works with the Steam copy of the game. You just need to downgrade it. I bought it from Steam, I followed their in instructions, everything works - mostly. It's great, you should try it. It's free on GOG. I just want to fix these things. Thankfully the sneak is now working but theoretically I cannot find or change the key for it, although (1) it's not a big issues now that's it's working somewhat and (2) I have a programmable keyboard. Still, it is odd and I would like to fix it properly if I can. No telling if other "keys" will disappear. Anyway, just thought I would let you know in case you wanna try your luck. The first 15 minutes has been kinda cool.

I think i have used Fallout 4 HD Overhaul 2k[www.nexusmods.com] (attention this is a massive download)
and Reshade[reshade.me] with Tonemap and Adaptive Sharpen filter with default settings.

Adaptive Sharpen filter strongly recommended, cleans out the screen. No more blurriness. Maybe this is enough for you.

Sorry, that isnt true. I was able to install Fallout London without any problems. If you no are not experienced with modding or just lazy, the GoG Fallout 4 is a better choice.

I was able by renaming the Fallout 4 folder to have both version installed. A batch file does the rest.

Fun fact: GoG is using Fallout 4 version from steam. GoG only changed the steam wrapper not asking for steam.

the CURRENT VERSION of the game is NOT compatible with FOLON.

The current version of the game is all that you can technically get here. Yes, there are download depots that you can use IF you are capable of understanding how insanely complex you have to bend to get the downgrade to actually work.

When you need to verify the game files, your game instantly upgrades back to the Next Generation.

That is incompatible with FOLON again.

Buying the goty edition on GoG and running them on different drives is the best solution for either one.

If I understand everyone, yeah, I mean you have to run the DOWNGRADER or whatever, but I got my steam copy to work is all I meant anyway. I mean, except for the graphics and sneak control problem.

@Genu, thanks I'll check it out and see if makes a difference. Hopefully, I don't blow up this whole thing. And, I'm sorry if I am being dense, but just to confirm, is this compatible with Fallout London? I thought I read somewhere there was a graphics DLC that specifically caused the game to crash a lot, and people were recommending it be disabled or uninstalled.

Thanks everyone! Really hoping to get this working and looking good. I'm so excited. I mean we're never going to get another good official Fallout game the way things are looking :(

step one: Download Fallout 4 as per usual. After the first run make a backup copy of the entire fallout 4 folder at steamapps\common\fallout 4. I renamed that folder Fallout4.980
Do the same with your Fallout 4 settings located at documents\my games\fallout4

step two: Run the downgrade patcher. Optional: Before your start installing FOLON make a backup copy of the steamapps\common\fallout 4 folder again. I named it Fallout4.163

step three: Install folon. Your Fallout 4 folder will be rewritten. Optional: Do a backup again.

result: 3 backup folders and your normal fallout 4 folder
fallout 4
fallout 4.980
fallout 4.163
fallout 4.london

You want to play the current Fallout 4 Nextgen? rename 'fallout 4.980' to 'fallout 4'.
You want to play the current Fallout 4 Pre-gen? rename 'fallout 4.163' to 'fallout 4'.
You want to play the current Fallout London? rename 'fallout 4.london' to 'fallout 4'.

same technique applies to the settings folder located at documents\my games\fallout4

this is not rocket science.

the renaming process can be done with a bat-file.
