FALLOUT 4 DOWNGRADE 1.10.163 CRASH

I downgraded my Fallout 4 do Vers. 1.10.163 and also Removed all Data of the Next Gen Content from my Fallout4/Data Folder. Also i used the correct F4SE Script Extender 0_06_23. Why Fallout CRASHES in the Startvideo?

Best guess (because you have not provided much info) is that you did not launch the game from the f4se launcher.

OR, you didn't dorwngrade correctly (or it broke).

OR you messed up your install of F4SE....


Not enough info to tell you anything more, other then "delete everything and try again"

Exactly HOW did you downgrade?
Did you clean your game of mods and add-ons before you downgraded?
Did you remove your old INI, save files, and other scripts before you downgraded?

If you're trying to downgrade just to play FOLON just go to GoG and buy the goty edition there. It will save you a LOT of headache. You can keep your installs completely separate and update one but not the other.

I had no issues at all using the Steam version. Set it to never update, and download the files. Delete everything in your Fallout folder, and replace with the ones you downloaded .... done.

Download the depot files, in the exact correct order, with the exact correct links to said files, move everything, don't forget where you put the old ones, move them to you-

I've had my game offline and read-only since last December because I wasn't even sure my windows 10 would work for me (thanks Steam, I was happy with 7) with the mods, file structure, etc., and I was several hundred hours in. When they dropped the update, I'd already long since had the practice of not allowing it.

The OP might not even want to do this, some people have really just decided that the update is junk (... ayup) or that they believe it's ... somehow catering to todd howard (...uhhhhhhh) or whatever, and reverted in whatever manner. But it's nowhere near as 'simple' as 'and download the files' because those files, the correct ones anyway, will very easily be broken by literally any false move on the user's part, and a lot of the new mods coming out for the game aren't going to work on the downgrade anyway.

Well i downloaded Fallout 4 by Steam fullest and than i immediately copy and pasted the Depot Files over to the FO4 Data Folder.
Question, when i fully downloaded FO4 from STeam, do i have to first create a Savegame VANILLA?
What i also did, i deleted out of FO 4 Data Folder the Creation Club BSA´s all the Armors from Creation Club?

It is best to attest that this works. A simple approach is to do these steps, adjust the manifest file to readonly to ensure that FO4 won't be updated and install F4SE. Then launch the game by F4SE. If that works, you can try a new game. If you manage to get to the point where you have control of your character, you're free to add mods on top of that.

the saves are version specific, I recommend starting a new game instead. So no.

It is possible you have to get a downgrade of these content as well. I don't have them so I don't know for sure.

well yesterday evening i forgot my Steam was not runnin and i started FO 4 with Vortex but Steam opened FO 4 Launcher, and from that on when i started with Vortex the Game crashed.

Are you attempting to actually run the downgraded game? Because launching it without Steam running just ruined that and you'll have to do it again if so.

Yea i just download the Game again clean and fresh and will first Launch it save a Vanilla Game and than test. Also weird was by downgrade it with the Depot Packs my FO 4 was than English instead of German?

well, that is the problem with downgrades, you have to ensure that Steam is already running in the background because when starting the application, it looks for Steam. If it is not present, it launches Steam and so on. The F4SE launcher is a way to get around the Fallout 4 launcher linked to Steam because this one checks for updates and tries to apply it if there (which is the case in your situation) is any

if you have gotten the codes from somewhere else, then these are likely from a user that plays the game in English.

I have noticed it is not really "confirmed" here, namely, why are you downgrading? If it is for FOLON, then okay. I would advise to play it in English however. I am not sure if there is a German language pack for that one...

If it is not for FOLON, then, I would say to stick to the latest version ...

Well i downgrade to 1.10.163 of the Reason the Next Gen Update breask so many good Mods i used back than 2022. And honestly, i want my Cbbe Body and Skimpy Outfits and a 2K Green Wasteland, than any stupid Creation Club Horse Armor Nonsens or like trough Next Gen added a Quest of the The Forged go INvestigate, Men that was already in the Base Game that you rescue the Finch Farm Boy out of the Raiders Hands in the Steel Factory. Bethesda pulls a Leg here or what.

Almost every mod got his NG-update if it was necessary. Your choice at which version you are troubleshooting mod issues.

In general: At NextGen the amount of players who can help is higher. Mods were improved.
