virgil's serum quest instant fail

hey guy was wounder if some one can help me out im trying to finish virgil serum quest every time i walk into his cave to give the serum it tells me i failed to give him the serum. How can i fail it if have it in my invintory i dont even get the chance to talk to him its just !bamm! fail

Any companions or power armor with you?
if so, dismiss & leave the armor.

^^^ I had a similar problem when I first met him, but yeah exiting power armor and leaving a companion worked for me, tell me if it does! good luck !

That's interesting. Sounds worse than the BoS mission where you have to kill off the Railroad leaders, and although you get Decon killed, he doesn't get crossed off.. Not that it doesn't really hamper the quest if you get a mission complete status, but dayum.

Specifically, targeting HUD module on helmet; it's known to shift some NPCs that are conditionally hostile, to definitely hostile. Best avoided until that's fixed.

Virgil's also supposedly hostile if you wait too long between visiting Institute and giving him the serum.

the worst part about Virgil's glitches, an unknowing player can easily reload their whole game due to this bug, it should be fixed asap
