Dtragon Age comes closest becuse it is a group game in the sense that you need to consider the group to progress. So you need to consider the interactionsof the group first and foremost.
Mass Effect 3 I knew was doomed from the first mention of the plot mechanic. I'm an Eng Lit graduate. I knew that what they were trying to do was impossible from the moment it was announced (HUMANS wwould have big problems, let alone the stupid machines we have!)
Fallout I think is the least bad we have for rpg as I understand rpg. NB the Witcher is NOT rpg. the Witcher is Character driven and fantastically good at it from all I hear. I'd play The Witcher if I could side with the monsters. That's what I understand by rpg. But I don't want to kill all those lovely monsters! :)
Witcher is probably my favorite one though.. especially the 3rd installation
There isnt ONE game out there that share the details , and the uniqueness of every! sidequest there is. everything was made with love 100% in that game... i freaking hate sidequests.. but not in TW3. it all feels like actual quests.. and everything is unique.
Origins was great, ME 1 and 2 were fantastic, and after that Bioware went to complete and utter ♥♥♥♥.
Fallout 1 and 2 have interesting stories and they're in my favorite genre (turn-based isometric rpg). Fallout New Vegas has some really intersting characters that surpass even Bioware's characters (no small feat) in my opinion. And Fallout 3 had an interesting world to explore.
The Mass Effect universe is awesome up until the end of ME3, and I'm not even talking about how abrupt it was upnpatched... that converstion with you-know-who was the most ridiculous thing I've ever heard. Even after all this time my hatred of that ending hasn't abated lol.
And while I consider Dragon Age: Origins to be one of the best games ever made, I haven't nor do I have any interest in playing the other two games.
