Christmas in DC?
I've got no idea how time runs in F4, but I've just had Christmas in DC. There were lots of decorated trees & strings of coloured lights. Anyone else had that?

It's an easter egg, it's supposed to happen near christmas and on christmas.

?? Did I miss something on my first play through? I know they have hanging lights all through Diamond City, but I never saw any CHRISTMAS decorations.

Mid-December and on christmas, diamond city will be decorated with christmas decorations.

Thanx Scarecrow. Came late for me, but better late than never. :)

Thanks for the heads up on the easter egg. I'll keep my eyes open around that game times.

They've gone just now, but they didn't co-incide with Christmas at all. Still good fun tho. :) It'd be good if various Towns & Settlements had more of their own, in game, festivals. Could lead to either interesting side quests or even trouble, if you break with custom. I think it was one of the Witchers that had different Town festivals, made it seem more real.

The decorations coincide with in-game time, not real time.

He's right, it has to be Christmas in the game not real life.

That's why I started my OP with 'I've got no idea how time runs in F4', or in any game really, except that it usually runs faster than 'real' time. It'd be good if they had seasons in F4, as I'm fairly sure that the amount of game time I spend in there, spans at least two seasons. :)

One character spent nearly a game-year finishing the main quest (and even then cut it short because he got fed up dealing with all the meanie-meanie-dookie-heads in the game). If you look on the Data page of your Pip-Boy you can see the current in-game date and time on the bottom.

You can see the in game date same place you check time of day. I'm really glad I spotted this thread. When I noticed the game day it was early December. I assumed it was a real time Christmas seasonal easter egg.

I'll have to try not to miss it if I havn't already. I've passed quite a bit of game time using quick travel since I noticed the date thing.

Thanx guys. I knew you could check the time of day on the Pip Boy, but not the exact date, I'll have another closer look. Doesn't surprise me about spending a game year in F4, that's why I suggested they should've included seasons. I reckon it'd add a whole nuther dimension to immersion.

There is a mod that adds four separate texture sets for the different seasons (and it's AWESOME!). Once the G.E.C.K. comes out the author plans to make the seasons change automatically, but for now the sets have to be manually swapped (or set up to use different profiles in NMM).
