What quest do I avoid to prevent Preston Radiants starting up?
When starting New game, and Don't want Kidnaps and Raiders every 5 minutes;

Do I avoid 'When Freedom Calls' quest?
--
Or Do When Freedom Calls but refuse to Help Minutemen at the end?
And if I refuse, can I still get settlements?
--
Or is it man up and do it all because that be best?
--
Or avoid new game til Beta patch goes gold then all will be ok?

There are several mods that disable the Radiants quests. Check out nexusmods.com

Kidnaps and Raiders seem to spawn as fast as i get them done. Like to know how to avoid this time sink in a future playthrough also.

Just hate to leave a kidnap victim with Super Mutants. Letting them get eaten is cold blooded. Its good xp for compeltion also.

Am I the only one, who simply ignores those quests popping up?
Sirsucksalot Jan 24, 2016 @ 9:35am
Am I the only one who actually does them?
I mainly do them because I need to rebuild America and improve the lives of American citizens, unlike certain commie America-hating degenerates who eat babies like MCDONOUGH!

Just ignore them. There isn't really a penalty for failing that I can see.

Ok, thanks so far replies, I will await beta patch go gold then.
Yes Kling, I do ignore Preston calls, its nice and peaceful. I avoid Castle too, but better is don't avoid Castle, just ignore his Raider calls. I've been doing Railroad and Bos radiants instead, very fun. I been ignoring the Workshop Data tab in my pipboy too.

Since I hate being nagged abiut my many failures, I avoided the M-men almost altogether. I did rescue the schmucks from Concord, but I never went to Sanctuary afterwards. The only downside is not getting the loot in Sanctuary, tho I suppose I could just go in, loot and run like hell whenever I see Preston coming my way with his to-do list.

What you can do is go into the Museum, kill all the raiders, put on the power armor, kill all the raiders again, and the deathclaw, then just walk off. The five of them are too stupid to realize they can stop hiding, and will remain in the Museum for the rest of the game. You never have to refuse to do anything. And believe me, your settlement is better off without them.

How can you live without Marcy complaining? She's like that little angel on one of my shoulders. Except I would prefer her to be at the bottom of my boot.

Step 1: Find Preston Garvayyy lmao
Step 2: Go into console and click on him
Step 3: Enter "setessential 0" (this removes his immortality. You can enter "setessential 1" to change it back.)
Step 4: Shoot Preston in face
Step 5: ????
Step 6: Profit

To bring him back, just click on his corpse in console and enter "resurrect"

Even if you avoid minutemen, settlers in your settlement will come asking for help.
Ceejay Jan 24, 2016 @ 12:06pm
I tend to find if you do not put on radio freedom the quests seem to pop up far far less.
cassiels Jan 24, 2016 @ 12:28pm
Do not go to Concord. Leave them there and play the game.

In Sanctuary you can use the workbench. You can unlock other settlements because someone will say: I know a good place for a settlement but there are monsters. By killing moles, ghouls and bugs or by getting quests from settlers you will get access to the workbenches.

There will be the occasional settler that wants help but I only had two during my playthrough and no kidnappings. It will feel like a Fallout game. Try it.
