Stuck on elevator upon leaving Vault 111

I just started the game and when I leave vault 111 I get stuck on the elevator after it comes up. I can attack and shoot but I can't use my pip-boy or open the menu to exit, I tried reverting to an older save and still had the same issue.
I made another save ontop of the elevator and that doesn't let me move either, I also tried going into noclip to try to get out and even that doesn't work. Does anyone know why this happens or how I can fix it? Any/all replies are appreciated

"By minimizing the game to tray (Alt TAB) and then going back in, I was able to bring up the control menu.

Through this method, I quicksaved after exiting the vault, then quit the game (Returning to desktop), went back into the game, and reloaded the quicksave. This by-passed the glitch and restored movement to the character."

I did that and verified the game cache and now it's working, thanks

This doesn't help if you're in survival mode though because you can't quicksave and if you change to another difficulty a window comes up and says that I won't be able to change back to survival difficulty.

Though I've noticed this glitch only happens if you change your name on the vault elevator.
